This being an election year, an “E”specially “S”tupid “P”olitical “N”etwork (ESPN) panelist on the “Around the Horn” program made a disturbing contribution to America’s deepening political divide. J.A. Adande, on Friday’s episode, compared Chinese genocide to U.S. voter requirements to show identification in order to vote and also attacked police officers. Talk about an insult to Uyghur slaves and the oppressed people of China, Taiwan and Hong Kong by trivializing their nightmarish existence under communist dictators.
“Around the Horn” host Tony Reali prompted panelists to comment on Beijing hosting the Winter Olympics amid Chinese Communist Party genocide against its Uyghur Muslim population. Adande, a nitwit sensationalist, ridiculed the intelligence of both his viewers as well as the victims of China. Adande stated that:
I believe it is a common practice for sports to require a cognitive dissonance. You need to compartmentalize.”
China’s commie leaders could not have done a better job of deflecting attention from their crimes against humanity. Adande continued to babble:
And who is to critique China’s human right records, when there are ongoing attacks on unarmed citizens by agents of state and assaults on voting rights for our people of color across various states of this country? So sports, I think, it is possible and it’s necessary more than ever to just shut everything out if you are to enjoy the actual games themselves.”

No matter how you slice that, Adande is calling the U.S. evil while giving real evil in China a pass. Riali gained equal footing on the stupidity slopes with Adande by saying he “appreciates” that inexcusable analogy.
Adande continued to descend into the moral pit, forgetting the millions who had flocked to the USA in search of freedom.:
Again, how can I choose something that is free?” Look at the recent host countries of these games, including Russia. When it comes to human right, it’s difficult to find a country which isn’t problematic.
The American requirement to present IDs in order to vote is the moral equivalent to China’s horrendous violations of human rights. The Uyghurs are being raped and enslaved by the Chinese thugs, which is why American police officers don’t do any better than Chinese gangsters.
Adande hinted that we can “bring attention” to China’s horrors. That’s been done repeatedly, often falling on deaf ears. Meanwhile, he couldn’t insult the Uyghurs any more with this comment.:
“I think its notable that we did have a Uyghur participant lighting the torch and hopefully this will be used to bring attention to it rather than to continue to place these issues [inaudible].”
To make matters worse, Adande is not some dumb ex-jock who doesn’t pay attention to the news. You can’t believe that Adande is also the director of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism sports journalism. You can call this leadership and academic training. Northwestern’s partisan hackers are apathetic and stupid and they pass this knowledge on to future broadcasters and writers.
Clay Travis, of Outkick sports blog and the “Clay Travis & Buck Sexton” radio program, said this latest chapter in ESPN idiocy is “a sign of how little actual knowledge from the outside of left-wing politics exists in the ESPN infrastructure that no one in the entire organization thought ‘Oh, man, this is an awful analogy that we’re making here. It’s an embarrassment for the network, and an insult to all Americans that we are spreading propaganda like China. It’s an outrage.’”
However, the outcome is predictable. Because ESPN’s parent company, Disney, has deep ties to China and lacks the courage to speak truth to the dictatorship’s crusade against free speech and freedom of conscience.
