Thursday, a catastrophic fire ripped through the building housing the Russian Ministry of Defense’s 2nd Central Scientific-Research Institute in Tver, some 80 miles northeast of Moscow. This “scientific-research institute” is the design bureau responsible for creating Russia’s ballistic missiles and anti-aircraft missiles (see BREAKING. Secret Russian Bureau responsible for designing missiles is caught in a mysterious fire. According to the reports on the spot, there were at least six deaths and 27 injuries.
🔥Five people died in the fire at the Russian Research Institute, Tver.
This institution was active in the development and maintenance of Iskander’s missile system. It also developed navigation systems and control systems. Defense Express reports are available. pic.twitter.com/aWRF95w6M1— Toronto Television / Телебачення Торонто (@tvtoront) April 21, 2022
As always, there was some speculation about the fire being “Ukrainian lightning,” given the functional responsibility for the offices. Either way, it was possible that this building had not been upgraded with fire-prevention technology or fire-control technology.
A few days later, a large Russian chemical plant was also destroyed by fire.

The Dmitrievsky Chemical Plant is located in the city of Kineshma (given Russian environmental standards, I imagine that “Kineshma” means “this place smells like a**” in the local dialect), some 200 miles northeast of Moscow. This is the description of the plant.
Dmitrievsky Chemical Plant, Russia’s largest producer of butyl alcohol and other industrial solvents is also a major supplier to a variety of chemicals and petrochemicals throughout Russia and the rest of the world.
…
DCP produces products that are in complete compliance with international standards of quality and high environmental standards. The ISO 9001 system: 2008 confirms our activity.
…
Today, the chemical plant is an innovative company that produces products for paint, varnish, leather and rubber. Not only are our products in high demand in Russia but far beyond. Today, sales geography includes more than 100 countries of the world.
Although our company is one the most established in butyl-acetate production and edible acetic acids, we use modern technology and equipment to ensure that the product we produce is high quality and as required. Our products are competitive on both domestic and international markets because of the strict quality control that is carried out at every stage.
The extent of the damage and casualties were not disclosed. However, you can see from the video that there were many injuries. I guess the “strict quality control” didn’t work out so well for them.
Some sources claimed that the plant produced essential chemicals for making artillery propellant. This may be true or false.

⚡️A large fire is burning in Korolyov, Russia. Locals share video. pic.twitter.com/Y0wUHMTUGR

The fire wasn’t just any location. It was at a massive plant owned by Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia, or RKK Energia, Russia’s primary manufacturer of ballistic missile, spacecraft, and space station components.
Some online randos said that the fire did not originate at RKK Energia’s plant, but rather in a separate warehouse.
However, the first research that I have done on the exact location of the fire at Korolyov shows it not to be in any noteworthy buildings (e.g., a warehouse). As more information becomes available, I will update.

That said, we don’t know what was in the warehouse, but we do know, from the smoke color and velocity, that synthetic materials were burning at high temperatures. Given this is sort of a “company town,” it is fair to infer that even if the fire is not within the boundaries of the RKK Energia facility, the warehouse is more likely than not holding supplies for the plant.
As I said in another blog post (6 Russian Oligarchs Suicide in Mystery Outbreak of Epstein Syndrome) we either witness an extraordinary cascade or need to search for another explanation.
Russia experienced three major fires in just two days. One fire broke out at Russia’s largest chemical plant. The other is located at the government design bureau that specializes in air and ballistic missiles. Third is at either a manufacturing facility or supporting warehouse that produces ballistic missiles. While none of the three directly affect Putin’s War, they are all strategic targets that strike at Russia’s defense sector or its “private sector.”
This is the simplest explanation. Someone is going to harm Russia to send a message to the public that Russia is open to attack, even though those attacks don’t involve bombs or rockets.
