The Democrats Have so Thoroughly Poisoned the Well With the COVID Vaccine and Booster That Even President Trump Gets Booed Trying to Sell It – Opinion

President Trump has been on the road with former Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly with their “History Tour.” The final stop was in Dallas, Texas, last Sunday. Trump obviously wants to remain front-and-center on the national stage, as he gears up for a second run at the White House 2024. There have been various reports gleefully reporting low attendance as though that was an indication that GOP’s turn away from President Trump was imminent. The turnout was quite respectable, even though the venues weren’t packed as in 2020. The American Airlines Center in Dallas saw nearly 70% occupancy of its 20,000 seats. That isn’t bad for a political event in a non-election year. The fact that Joe Biden hasn’t attempted any sort of major public event shows that his staff knows what would happen…”Let’s go, Brandon!!”

Dallas had a much more important story. This story has to do the how the left politicized Wuhan’s vaccine in 2020 to create a campaign issue for President Trump and to deprive him of credit for taking prompt, decisive action to shape the present environment. In fact, the Democrats may have succeeded so spectacularly that no one will trust any emergency vaccination program in the future…I know I won’t.

A clear fact emerged from the Dallas event that Trump was personally pro-vaccination. As with many things Trump does, it is not clear if his support for the program is solely based on its outcomes or his involvement.

This is Donald Trump explaining to his supporters why he supports the vaccine.

I’m not sure claiming ownership of an ineffective if not an outright dangerous vaccine that has been imposed upon millions of people is a great strategy. It is likely that the Democrats will disclaim all responsibility for the safety records of vaccines by the year 2024. However, the sentiment is understandable. Your political adversaries may claim that you failed to act in the face the pandemic. It’s natural to wish to rectify the situation. When President Trump tells the crowd to “take credit,” at about the 1:00 mark, you hear an unhappy response. At 1:07, when President Trump asks for an affirmation, “do you agree with that?” The response is weak and mixed.

Next, we will move on to the part leftwing media glorifies.

O’REILLY: Both the president and I are vaxxed. [Turns to President Trump]What booster did you receive?

TRUMP: Yes.

O’REILLY: I did, too.

The crowd boos a few times. It is not much, but it is quite audible. They are unique because they occur in silence. There is not one cheer or clap for the announcement.

President Trump tries to play it off with, “Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t; that’s alright, it’s a very tiny group over there.”

This episode has two key takeaways. One is that Trump still must be considered the most prominent and center-right political figure in America. If he wishes to win the nomination for 2024, it is almost certain. While it’s not clear if this is a good idea, it is difficult to imagine who would beat Trump in a primary. The second is the end of the COVID debate and boosters. About half of Americans will not accept them unless coercion is used. That is the only way communications strategies can alter. Trump would be booed for using the booster. No booster spokesperson would have a better record.

Let us congratulate and celebrate the Democrats’ victory over President Trump in the political arena. We also wish them all the best.
