We previously reported on Virginia’s dire situation where motorists were trapped in the I-95 snow for over a week. Senator Tim Kaine, a Democratic senator from Virginia (D-VA), was stuck for 19 hours earlier today.
We noted that some left-leaning people tried to put the blame on Glenn Youngkin, a newly elected Republican. But Youngkin isn’t even in office yet, so any government response that should have been done here is all on the current, Democrat Gov. Ralph “Blackface” Northam and he wasn’t doing a great job at it.
VDOT (Governor) were closed as of 7.15 AM. Ralph Northam’s office have not returned multiple requests from WTOP to provide an update on reopening efforts. https://t.co/hotSTHjxF0

Some people stayed for hours, while others were forced to find their own solutions. Some were using social media for mutual help. It is the very best thing about America when people help one another.

Now you wouldn’t think that anyone could object to the people trying to help each other out in the middle of such a situation. But then, you wouldn’t know liberal journalist Jonathan Chait, he who shall be permanently aggrieved no matter the situation.
The Reaganites used to believe in pulling yourself up by your bootstraps https://t.co/4rNXr0VEhe

He believes this to be a good response when there is an emergency like this snowfall. And by the way, Jonathan, this kind of response is “pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps.” When the government fails you, you figure out ways around it to help yourself and your neighbors. It’s the very essence of Reaganism, but more broadly, being a good American.
While the Reagan account does what it can for people, Jonathan Chait’s liberal view is mocking those who are in danger. Is there a better illustration of which philosophy is superior than the other? How soulless do you have to be when this is what you’re thinking about at this point?
The same man who ridiculed Americans who worried about milk prices due to inflation last month. He is totally in sync with tribalism and has no soul.
Of course, it shouldn’t be about politics now, but making sure everyone is safe, as the Reagan account pointedly told Chait, who doesn’t seem to understand that.
If you could use your account for people in need, and forget about politics, that would be awesome.

Joe Cunningham, my colleague does it in nicely:
It is undoubtedly one of Jonathan Chait’s most famous tweets. The tweet is a combination of classics such as snide dismissal, fundamental misunderstandings of his friends, and air-balling a failed dunk in an embarrassing manner. https://t.co/NhJHxapwVq
