Jeff Zucker is no longer CNN’s chief executive, but his poison still lingers. That fact was obvious during Monday afternoon’s Inside Politics where correspondent Paula Newton and anchor John King teamed up to smear the peaceful Freedom Convey protest against Canada’s COVID-19 mandates as “a threat to democracy,” an “insurrection driven by madness,” and “sedition.” Even suggesting the nation was teetering on the brink of disaster and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had threats against this life.
“There’s a state of emergency in place in Ottawa where the police chief says COVID protests are a ‘nationwide insurrection driven by madness,’” King declared, being sure to pick some of the most incendiary quotes.
Adding: “It started with the so-called ‘Freedom Convoy’ led by truckers protesting a new mandate requiring vaccines in order to enter the country.’”
Transitioning to Newton’s report, the two gawked at how “absolutely remarkable” it all was before she unloaded her own lies about what was going on. “Just think about the language. I know it sounds familiar to you, right: ‘a threat to democracy’ an ‘insurrection,’ ‘sedition,’” she declared without evidence to any of it.
Instead, she chose to repeat talking points of the Ottawa Police Department’s petty authority and the Liberal Canadian government.
Newton attempted to assure viewers that this supposed rabble was losing its steam.
Let me be very clear. Things have slowed down, but it does not mean that the truck-in is no longer necessary. Right? The sit-in that’s going in right in front of the national parliament. As you know, it started as Freedom Convoy. The Freedom Convoy rolled from the west to the east. It spread to many cities and towns over the weekend.
Things have quieted down substantially and yet what lingers are very persistent protesters…
That was followed up with the suggestion that the truckers were threatening Trudeau’s life. “The prime minister, Justin Trudeau remains isolated at an undisclosed address,” she said. “He calls these a ‘fringe minority.’”
Newton ended her report with a condemnation of American politicians for supporting these Canadian truck drivers’ rights to protest and petition the government for redress; effectively accusing them as being supportive of criminals.
John I want to also point out that these Americans are supported by sitting senators. The police chief has a message for them: “Don’t. You are supporting unlawful behavior.”
“It is amazing to see this all over the globe, even in neighboring countries.,” King said in faux bewilderment as if Canada was teetering on their brink of collapse.
Meanwhile, in 2020, CNN supported the Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots that destroyed people’s livelihoods and homes and resulted in deaths. The CHAZ camp, which was a hub of crime and extortion in Seattle, was also largely ignored by CNN.
Consumer Cellular and Liberty Mutual sponsored lucratively to discredit the information about Freedom Convoy. This link will take you to their contact information so that you can inform them about biased news they are funding.

CNN’s Inside Politics
February 7, 2022
Eastern, 12:31.59JOHN KING: There’s a state of emergency in place in Ottawa where the police chief says COVID protests are a “nationwide insurrection driven by madness.” Thousands of Canadians – you see the pictures there – protesting vaccine mandates. It started with the so-called “Freedom Convoy” led by truckers protesting a new mandate requiring vaccines in order to enter the country.
CNN’s Paula Newton live for us now in Ottawa with the latest. Remarkable protest, Paula.
PAULA NEWTON: It’s amazing. Just think about the language. I know it sounds familiar to you, right: “a threat to democracy” an “insurrection,” “sedition.”
Things have quieted down substantially and yet what lingers are very persistent protesters here saying that, “Look, it’s not just about a vaccine mandate and being able to cross the border in your truck. The whole thing is about everything. The mandate for masks. Restrictions Everything.” They want it all gone.
Here, just like in the United States of America, it’s up to the states. It’s now up to the provincial governments.
Justin Trudeau is still in exile at an undisclosed address. He and his children had COVID and he’s saying, “Look, this isn’t about me or the federal government.” He calls these a “fringe minority.”
John I would also like to mention that at least one of the sitting governors is supporting these Americans. They have a message from the police chief. “Don’t. You are supporting unlawful behavior.”
KING: Paula Newton. We appreciate your live updates. We know you’ll keep an eye on that one. Amazing that it is visible everywhere in the world, including our neighbour.
