I’m generally amused when I catch flak for writing about people like, oh, HBO “Realtime” host Bill Maher (or anyone not on the “approved list”). The line of “reasoning” goes something like, “Maher is a (fill in the blank) who (fill in the blank) and will never (fill in the blank), so why do you give him attention?”.
We are glad you asked. Here’s why.
Let us start at the beginning. Bill Maher’s thoughts are absolutely amazing to me. anything. I’ve watched the guy off and on long enough to know full well that he is capable of an occasional cogent thought or set of beliefs one time — and then go off the deep end of Planet Loony Tunes, the next time (as is the case with everyone else not on the aforementioned list). Two words. Or, à la Hillary, what difference does it make?
Answer: zero.
Was ist das? Does “matter” — to the extent that I choose to write about a particular liberal and something he or she said — is anytime we can EngageTo the left Expose the left, that’s a good thing. Maher has been doing just that on a fairly regular basis of late, and on Wednesday night, he stopped by CNN to visit with one of our favorite pals, “Cuomo Primetime” host, Chris “Fredo” Cuomo.

Again, keep in mind that the exchange went down, again, on CNN — AKA: The Most Trusted Name in News™ — with CNN’s audience watching (what’s left of it) — not on Fox News or even HBO. Beautiful.
Cuomo kicked off the festivities, as captured by The Post Millenium, by trying to get Maher to buy into the idea that “woke” is a good thing for America.
“[W]Oke is inclusive, aware, and has no cancel culture. It’s just accountability. These are not negative things. These are great things. Disagree?”
I don’t want to drop a spoiler, here, but to deny that cancel culture not only exists but is getting worse by the proverbial minute is to suspend disbelief — and Maher wasn’t buying, returning serve: “I don’t remember the day that term was born. Although I hear, AOC says only old people use it.” Maher went on:
“You gave it to us like five years ago, so sorry, we didn’t get the memo right away. You know, it’s such a high school thing. ‘We’re not using that anymore.’ ‘We all wear pink on Wednesdays.’ Okay. Use whatever term you want, I don’t care.
“I just got used to this one and yes, in its best sense, if we’re talking about, um, being aware of things that we always should have been aware of, more reckonings that we’ve had, sexual malfeasance, racial injustice, that’s all a good thing, but there’s a reason why the term ‘woke’ has come to a signify … doing things that don’t make sense.”
Fredo listened as Maher delivered a masterclass on the Democrat Party. (Emphasis, mine.)
“I keep saying this to the Democratic party. Your toxic personality is due to your lack of common sense. This is what people are seeing on their newsfeeds.
“I mean, you were saying to me in the break, ‘people mostly go on with their lives.’ They do, but they see things on their phone or on their Facebook page. People pass things around and it’s a constant drip, drip, drip of, oh, these people are nuts.”
Transgenderism, Critical Race Theory, and Transgenderism
Maher educated Cuomo regarding the truth of Critical Race Theory training of children.
“If my kid comes home from school and tells me, ‘they’re telling me I’m a racist, what does that word mean, mommy,’ a kid, a young kid, old enough to process that.
[…]
“The kids are taught and sometimes Split into oppressor and oppressed groups. Do they even have a clue what the words actually mean? What would they do if you told them? If you hadn’t told them?
“I mean, you’re taking something that was getting better, race relations in America… thinking in my view that still a lot of work needs to be. It is necessary to make remedial efforts. Still. Racism is part of America, but I did a thing one night about progressive phobia…liberals got afraid to acknowledge progress.
[…]
“Or… comes home and says, ‘I think I’m a girl now.’The school said that California is a state that requires you to follow that. If the child wants to change his name to a girl’s name, That stuff will be right at home. That’s at your kitchen table.”
How does Maher feel about how liberal media reported on Donald Trump Jr. in relation to the mess called Hunter Biden. From the very beginning, this one was obvious.
“If Don Jr. had done what Hunter Biden had done, it would be on every night, all night on MSNBC.”
Maher pulled this punch. He knew damn well Don Jr. would have come. even closeDue to Hunter Biden’s behaviour, CNN would have aired it non-stop as well.

Maher then reflected back on his childhood in New Jersey, and what has changed over time for the better.
“When I was a kid, I grew up in New Jersey, which is not a Southern state, and it was a completely white town. Today, a large majority of Americans desire to be surrounded by people from different races. It is quite a change in my lifetime.
Not mission accomplished. can we just acknowledge how far we’ve come and where we are right now?“
The dirty little secret of the Democrat Party, Bill, is that good news doesn’t sell in the voting booth.
