ABC’s Karl TORCHES Biden Over COVID Testing Failures

When even ABC’s chief Washington correspondent Jon Karl criticizes you, it is obvious that President Biden has made a mess of his presidency. Sunday was the “Sunday” edition. This WeekKarl made the harshest criticisms of Biden at the Powerhouse Roundtable.

When Anchor George Stephanopoulos asked Karl if he believes Biden’s shift in strategy to deal with the ongoing COVID pandemic meant that it should be treated as a “new normal”, Karl launched into a rant against Biden’s mishandling of the pandemic:

It was the top priority of President Biden when he came to office. The pandemic was his top priority. He would defeat the pandemic. This was where Biden received the highest approval ratings during his first month of presidency. You can see that the pandemic isn’t under control when you take a look at where things are right now. This is not Biden’s fault. It’s the result of a virus which has evolved and mutated in unpredictable ways and is difficult to manage. But you’ve had a disaster over-testing, which reminds me of the disaster over-testing that frankly, we had when Trump was President. There has been mixed messages out of CDC, which have drawn criticism from medical professionals like Dr. Jha. This is why he needs to create a plan and direction. And I think realizing he has–that we’re all going to be living with a new normal is the first step towards doing that.

Ouch! It is not often that leftist media make such harsh criticisms of Democrats. Stephanopoulos immediately turned to Julie Pace, executive editor of the Associated Press after Karl’s comments. There was no pushback from her either, instead, she pointed out how the partisan lines have shifted in dealing with the pandemic. Pace pointed out that even Democrats have grown tired of incessant lockdowns.

It was easy to draw a line from your political affiliation to where you landed on COVID restrictions in the early days of the pandemic. Now, that line is muddled. Democrats, who were more for tighter restrictions, are now feeling like they have to go forward and live with it. They would like to see schools remain open. They do not believe there is a need to lock down schools as tightly as we did.

Stephanopoulos then turned his attention to Chris Christie (ex-Governor of New Jersey), who perhaps was the most severe in his harsh condemnation of Biden for his pandemic errors. To be in this situation 22 months later and have people still waiting or testing online, and then not being able to obtain tests even though he took $1.9 trillion from the Treasury to address this issue when he was first elected is incompetence on a massive scale.

Donna Brazile (ex-chairwoman Democratic National Committee) was Donna Brazile’s last refuge against harsh criticisms of the Biden administration. “Moving at warp speed”It comes down to vaccination distribution and testing.

Brazile’s delusions are obvious, but Jon Karl has been able to finally tell the truth. We will accept it even though this doesn’t often happen.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS : President Biden seemed to be moving towards Dr. Jha’s strategy and the other experts who are treating the whole pandemic in a new normal.

JON KARL: Absolutely. George. The bottom line is that George needs to change his strategy. This was President Biden’s top priority when he took office.

STEPHANOPOULOS. And Julie Pace. The partisan lines as well as the partisan disputes have also been falling apart. Right now, we see the resentful parents and teachers about what to do for schools.

JULIE PEACE: It is amazing to see this shift. It was easy to draw a line from early on in the pandemic between your political affiliation and where you stood regarding COVID restrictions. Now, that line is muddled. Democrats, who were more for tighter restrictions, are now feeling like they have to go forward and live with it. They would like to see schools remain open. They don’t believe that tighter lockdowns are necessary as they did earlier. We are now in another phase. Although we are seeing an increase in the number of cases due to more people getting vaccinated than ever before, these cases tend not to be as severe. There aren’t any increases in deaths or hospitalizations. This has made it difficult for me to believe that the public is willing to take a serious cut in their freedom to continue living as usual.

STEPHANOPOULOS. Chris Christie is President in the right place?

CHRIS CHRISTIE : He couldn’t have been more wrong as he has been lately, George. To be in this situation 22 months later and have people waiting to test or online and still not being able to access tests, after the President appropriated $1.9 billion to help with it when he was first elected to office, is sheer incompetence. The President should come up with an alternative solution and new ways to tackle this issue. One way would be to become competent in testing. That’s because it’s an important part of our strategy to move forward and keep people safe. It is vital to maintain people’s status so we can reduce the spread of Omicron. Omicron is obviously more contagious than any other strains that have been encountered, especially the Delta strain. Joe Biden has a problem. He has extremely high expectations and is now in an awkward situation. He had high expectations of the virus being defeated. That was the wrong method. He oversold vaccines. There was no way that vaccines would prevent you getting COVID. You would not be hospitalized for COVID or even die from it. This was too much to expect. He has not met that goal. He’s failed on testing. George is in dire need of a new story.

STEPHANOPOULOS – Is this fair criticism Donna?

DONNA BRADILE: No, of course not. George, you see, every day, Americans get more vaccines. We all have a responsibility to help this happen. According to governor Christie, more people are vaccinated means less strain for our health and economy. You see, the Trump administration has been moving at warp speed since we got these vaccines. The American public, together with governors and officials from state health, should continue to support vaccines. They can also encourage boosters for people who have reached the age to receive them. To ensure that these kits are available to all, I believe they will. It is important to teach them how it works so we can prevent the spread of the virus. This is our top priority. This is a health crisis. Yes, politics are a part of this disease. As someone who was part of the initial Coronavirus Task Force, I knew we needed to take some basic steps to ensure everyone’s safety. Wearing a mask is a good idea. There’s nothing wrong with wearing a mask. Make sure you get the right one. We must also protect ourselves and others with this vaccine. I’m going to continue to stress. Get vaccinated. Get boosted. You won’t be hurt. I’m confident. You can see me. I’m feeling good.
