Why Family is so Important

Family is one of the most important things in a person’s life. While many people may take their family for granted, George Rutler does not. The famous priest knows that family should be a top priority for all and that is why he always makes sure to spend quality time with them. From holidays to special occasions to church gatherings and more he is always willing to set his personal life aside to see his family. He is a blessed member of his family and is looked to for advice. He is a role model for the children in his extended family and loves spending time with them to teach them about all aspects of life.

Family is always there to offer help and advice. When someone is in a pinch and needs help, they may not be able to count on friends, but they can count on their family. While many people may think of their family as just parents and children, it also includes grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. They may not be close with all these family members but they will all likely offer a helping hand and a piece of advice if asked.

Another reason why family should be a top priority in someone’s life is because family teaches us all empathy. When a person puts their family’s needs ahead of their own, they are showing empathy and selflessness. Father Rutler knows this and is trying to instill these values to others. Family is blood and that can never change. If people are willing to go out of their way for their family, they are showing younger generations what really matters in the world.

No matter who someone is or where they are in the world, they are who they are because of their family. Family has instilled in them the morals they have and the values they take pride in. If someone is happy about the person that they have become, they should really stop and think about all the people who have helped them get to where they are. If a person stopped to make a list, most of the people on the list would be their family. It is important to take time out of a busy day to prioritize family. Take a few minutes each day and call them to tell them “thank you” and to see how they are. Oftentimes, we can get too caught up in the world around us and we forget to thank the people in our lives who made it all possible.

Family is very important for all of us because we not only share the same blood, but we also tend to share the same beliefs and values. Most family members have the same work ethic, dedication, and moral compass. No matter how old or young someone is, it is important to share these values with their family to make them better people. Never prioritize other things or people over family.
