Virginia High School Forces Kids to Play Twisted Game of ‘Identify Your Privilege’ Bingo – Opinion

Republican Governor Glenn Younkin might finally be at the helm of the previously screwed-up, Virginia ship of state, but at least one public high school is openly defying one of the new governor’s executive orders by “asking” high school students to play a sick game called “privilege bingo.” Shocked? Me, neither.

As reported by The Federalist, Oakton High School, which is part of Fairfax County Public Schools, pretty much demanded that students participate in the “game,” which singles out kids based on characteristics of their race and family life — “privileges,” as it were — in defiance of Youngkin’s order banning “inherently divisive concepts” from Virginia’s public education curriculums. (“Curricula,” to the sticklers among us.)

Among the so-called “privileges”? Let’s see… how about “parents are married,” “never worried about food,” “heterosexual,” “Christian,” “able-bodied,” “military kid,” and “have your own bedroom”?

Translation: The common characteristics of a nuclear, responsible family.

This is clearly just one more effort to program America’s kids into believing that “inherent white privilege” (based solely on skin color) and pretend “systemic racism” are inexorably part of the very fabric of America and unavoidably part of everyday life, and therefore responsible for all that ails America, 24x7x365.

And it is a complete crock of crap — if not at least bordering on child abuse.

The district did the same thing the left does whenever it is caught: The district lied and obfuscated to try to hide its racism-as-hell pork, which Washington Free Beacon had transcribed.

[The game]This was created to give students the chance to think about their past experiences, and also to help them develop critical thinking skills.

“While building their critical thinking skills.” Oh, please. Have I mentioned the complete crap of this program?

Assistant Superintendent Douglas A. Tyson said the “game” came from an approved Fairfax County Public Schools English curriculum lesson  — oh cool, even “better”  and was:

[A]This is a great vehicle to encourage student thinking and challenge it [an] author’s thoughts/conclusions and to sharpen their ability to critically read selected texts.

They still think they can slide this kind of nonsense past us, gang, and we must let them know — loudly and clearly, where necessary — that they are not. This was what we saw in Loudoun County Virginia and other school board meetings around the country last year. These efforts should be continued. For the good of our children, this destructive garbage must stop.

Youngkin’s executive order explicitly made the above observation crystal clear, as noted by WFB:

Critical Race Theory and its derivatives, which are inherently divisive, encourage students to see life only through the lense if race. They assume that certain students are conscious or unconscious racist, sexist, oppressive or both, while other students view themselves as victims.

Amen.
