Univision On-Air Editorial At Border Calls For ‘Comprehensive Immigration Reform’

As migrants continued to rush to the U.S. southern border ahead of a potential removal of Title 42, Univision anchor Ilia Calderón called for “comprehensive immigration reform” in a rare on-air editorial.

Watch as Calderón, on behalf of her network, openly advocates for immigration policy:

ILIA CALDERON : We are proving that the United States needs to implement comprehensive immigration reform. Also, it is up to our Latin American governments to take the necessary steps to stop violence and corruption, as well as to put an end of corruption which is stealing the wealth of the people, the future for these children.

It isn’t surprising that the editorial was broadcast live. The same network that admitted its success in the long-term depends on open borders, which also filed amicus briefs before the United States Supreme Court to defend DACA. If Title 42 is repealed, the current border crisis will be a huge deal.

It is unclear what effect a comprehensive immigration reform that is to Univision’s liking might have on the current border crisis except to potentially encourage more of it, and ultimately, more clicks and eyeballs. However, the current situation is unlikely to change as long as it remains open.

Spanish-language viewers deserve more than just to receive their news through networks that act as immigration-interest-PACs.
