U.S. Oil and Gas Association Savagely Claps Back at Biden Over Gas Price Tweet – Opinion

Critics came back hard at Joe Biden after he tweeted Sunday an economically illiterate edict to US gas station owners which proclaimed, “Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.”

We are so close to Fourth of July that we celebrate the fall of the monarchy which used to be in a position to simply throw down orders on the United States.

The U.S. Oil & Gas Association was having none of that garbage, savagely tweeting back:

“Please make sure the WH intern who posted this tweet registers for Econ 101 for the fall semester…”

Kaboom! Kaboom!

According to Fox News, Biden’s missive came as gas prices were averaging at $4.812 nationwide. Don’t tell that to Californians, though, because gas prices here average $6.244—last week it cost me over $100 to fill my Ford Explorer. Mind you, an Explorer is not some gas-guzzling behemoth, it’s a four-door midsize crossover that I need to run my business and ferry around my four kids. The Explorer is also very enjoyable.

This tweet comes after a Biden-rejected proposal for a 90 day gas tax holiday. Even Democratic legislators dismissed it as ineffective and unwelcome.

Joe can blame the gas stations all he wants, but the fault lies squarely on his shoulders—he notoriously canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline in his first hours in office and “paused” oil and gas leases on federal lands. Only the Keystone would have delivered an average of 870,000 barrels per day to Texas’ refineries.

More recently, Renewable Energy Joe has constantly argued that our insane fuel prices are the result of “Putin’s price hike.” On Thursday, though, as my colleague Alex Parker reports, one of Biden’s minions let the cat out of the bag by admitting that high gas prices are just part of the “liberal world order”:

What you heard today from President Obama was an articulation clearly of the stakes. It is all about the future for the Liberal World Order and we must not be afraid.

Not everyone was thrilled with this Liberal World Order, nor Biden’s uneducated tweet:

Even Jeff Bezos chided the president, as RedState’s Bonchie reported:

Ouch. This is too serious a problem to continue making such statements by the White House. It’s either straight ahead misdirection or a deep misunderstanding of basic market dynamics.

The easily offended White House didn’t like that, with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responding to Bezos Saturday:

While oil prices dropped about $15 in the last month, pump prices have not fallen much. That’s not “basic market dynamics.” It’s a market that is failing the American consumer.

No, it’s an overheated market driven by insane inflation and supply chain issues. It’s so bad that even the Chinese media is making fun of Biden’s ill-advised tweet, writing, “now US President finally realized that capitalism is all about exploitation. He didn’t believe this before.”

What is the matter?

Though Biden now likes to blame America’s oil companies and Putin’s Ukraine war for the gas price nightmare, he showed his true intentions back in 2019 during a Democratic debate. Moderator Tim Alberta asked: “As president, would you be willing to sacrifice some of that growth, even knowing potentially that it could displace thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in the interest of transitioning to that greener economy?”

“The answer is yes,” Biden said.

The tweet from Biden about a gas station was not clarified by his administration as of Sunday.  Fox reports that the White House did not clarify which gas companies or individual gas station owners he was talking about. Despite Uncle Joe’s claims of profiteering, gas stations usually make no more than 2 to 5 cents per gallon of gas sold. Please read: RedState’s Mike Miller’s breakdown of how Federal Reserve economists utterly destroyed Biden’s excuse of oil company profiteering.

The bottom line: once again Blamin’ Biden is trying to fault everyone else but his own administration for ridiculous fuel costs, but he announced his true intentions a long time ago. He fully owns this crisis and stupid tweets won’t let him escape accountability.

Good on you, U.S. Oil & Gas Association, for calling him out. Continue speaking truth to power.
