The Narrative Is the Priority

The media claims that Kyle Rittenhouse was white supremacist. The media claims that Kyle Rittenhouse is an active shooter. The media claims that Kyle Rittenhouse is a murderer.

He was in fact none of the above.

Kyle Rittenhouse, a young 17-year old man, went to Kenosha (Wisconsin) to help businesses and provide medical assistance to the sick. Joseph Rosenbaum (36-year-old child molester) chased him down and shot Rosenbaum as Rosenbaum reached for the gun. Anthony Huber (26), a 26-year-old man who was convicted on two counts of strangulation, and suffered after choking his grandmother and brother with a knife. Rittenhouse then shot Huber as Huber attempted to smash his skateboard into Rittenhouse. Gaige Grosskreutz (27), a radical Antifa offshoot member, approached Rittenhouse, holding a gun in his hand. Rittenhouse then shot him in the back.

It was recorded. Witness testimony and other physical evidence confirmed it.

Rittenhouse, however, was brought to trial.

His case had become the focus of much political debate and he was brought before a judge. Joe Biden starred Rittenhouse as a character in an advertisement decrying Donald Trump’s supposed support for white supremacists. Left-leaning members claimed Rittenhouse was a symbol of American racism, despite all three Rittenhouse’s victims being white. Even after Rittenhouse was exonerated by the prosecution, a weak case that saw even its own witnesses support Rittenhouse’s self-defense case, media members maintained that Rittenhouse’s innocence would add to America’s racist record.

Last week we heard that Igor Danchenko was indicted by the Department of Justice. He is a Russia analyst and worked alongside Christopher Steele to create the Steele dossier. This bizarre collection of misinformation regarding Trump has been treated as blockbuster material on the media. It is claimed that Danchenko concealed the fact that one of his sources was close to Clinton’s family. Steele, at Hillary Clinton’s request, collected false information from Clinton aides and made it into a report. Clinton’s team then handed the Steele report to the FBI. The FBI quickly used the Steele report as the basis of a FISA warrant for Carter Page, an associate of Trump’s campaign. As a campaign point, the Clinton campaign used Team Trump’s FBI investigation.

Naturally, the media supported all this. The Steele dossier was made public by the media, who treated it like it was credible and verified. As Bill Grueskin, former academic dean at Columbia Journalism School, writes, “some reporters simply didn’t like or trust Mr. Trump and didn’t want to appear to be on his side.”

Jussie was not assaulted by MAGA-hatted white men; media treated his original story with total credulity. Christine Blasey Ford didn’t provide supporting evidence in her claims against Brett Kavanaugh. Instead, the media treated Christine Blasey Ford as an inspiring heroine. Covington Catholic’s high schoolers did not make fun of a Native American person; instead, the media treated them evil white supremacists. Jacob Blake wasn’t wrongfully killed by police. The media saw his killing as an example of police systemic racism. No evidence was ever presented that Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd based on race; his case nonetheless became the point of the spear in our “national conversation” about racism.

What number of facts are at risk from media-crafted stories? To achieve Left-wing political utopia, as many facts will be lost. As David Burge suggested years ago on Twitter, “Journalism is about covering important stories. With a pillow, until they stop moving.”
