An IP address is a unique number, usually indicated by the number written in dots. It stands for Internet Protocol address and it’s used to identify your device within the network. There are different kinds of IPs which you can get: Public or Private. The public ones can be found on any website that offers free IP addresses (just google it) while the private ones are assigned to your router by default when you buy a broadband connection from an ISP. In order to use a private one, there are many ways through which you can change them – some of them being more complicated than others.
