Morning JoeSteve Bannon was in desperate need of his blood, and demanded that the Justice Department bring him to justice after he was held by the House in criminal contempt because he refused to appear before the committee on January 6.
Joe Scarborough went wild and predicted the worst outcome if Trump’s allies, including Bannon, are not prosecuted by DoJ.
“I swear that God will give me 10, 15, and 20 years in the future.”If people do this, then we will be witnessing an independent billionaire who, in between flying to Mars on rocketships, is planning to take control of this country.”
After finding Eric Holder in contempt, the House decided that Obama’s Justice Department would not prosecute Eric Holder. Holder refused to testify on the devastating Operation Fast and Furious in which the ATF encouraged arm dealers to sell arms that ended up in the hands Mexican drug cartels.
Oh, wait: no wailing from the likes of Scarborough & Co. in Holder’s case about the coming end of democracy and the seizing of the government by a power-mad billionaire. Huh. Do you wonder why?
Eugene Robinson shook his head in agreement with Scarborough’s alarmist rhetoric. But wait: Robinson works for one of those scary billionaires who might take over the government—Jeff “Democracy Dies in Darkness” Bezos, owner of Robinson’s employer, The Washington PostIt’s possible!

6:09 am ETMIKA BRZEZINSKI – The Jan 6th Committee had previously issued subpoenas to top Trump advisors including Steve Bannon. After Bannon refused to testify, the Hhouse voted in contempt to keep him out of court.
Attorney General Merrick Grland will decide whether Bannon should be charged.

JONATHAN LEMIRE – There are real concerns about Steve Bannon’s future. Is the Department of Justice going to indict him? What teeth will this investigation really have if it fails?

LEMIRE: Why do people feel compelled to work together?
SCARBOROUGH – They do not have any. Either Congress has the power to subpoena or they don’t. Merrick Garland has been looking at past administrations and I am a little confused about what he is doing. I don’t want them to be politically persecuted because of their views. If you are trying to take down the federal government, it is okay. If you’re committing sedition, it’s okay to actually enforce the law And that’s what I don’t understand.
