Nets Swoon Over ‘Blockbuster’ & ‘Historic’ Spending Bill

Picking up where they left off during their respective morning shows, the three evening broadcast network news shows on Monday gushed over the passage of the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” which they labeled as “blockbuster” and “historic.”

Continue reading NBC Nightly News which was the worst offender of the three, fill-in host Tom Llamas drooled all over himself with excitement for the Democrats’ newly passed spending bill: “In a deeply divided country with a deeply divided Congress, a blockbuster billion-dollar deal has been made.”

Llamas turned then to Ali Vitali, a Democrat Party propagandist who masquerades as a Capitol Hill reporter from NBC News. Vitali gushed that “Tonight, Democrats [are] victorious, if a little weary after a marathon weekend.”

“A nearly 22-hour Senate session that culminated in the passage of a sweeping health care climate and economic bill, $430 billion in spending with unprecedented climate and energy investments,” Vitali added.

After wrapping up the rest of her report, llamas asked Vitali what “experts saying on how it will affect the current inflation crisis.” In response, Vitali laughably claimed “top economists say this bill will put downward pressure on inflation” and that “investments in energy and health care will fight inflation and lower costs while setting the table for long-term economic growth.”

A hard-fought victory is near for the President. Inflation reduction legislation, which reduces prescription drug prices and lowers the deficit, is the most significant U.S. law ever. Climate change mitigation commitment.

Tonight, Democrats are pushing for changes in health care. Medicare will now be able negotiate with drug companies the cost of prescription drugs and set a $2,000 annual cap on out-of pocket expenses. Americans purchasing their own health insurance would see lower premiums. The bill would be funded by raising taxes on the top corporate executives. The $740 billion climate package, which amounts to $740billion, would provide assistance for Americans looking for an electric car. It includes a $7500 tax credit and $4,000 for used vehicles, as well as a $7500 tax credit. Americans that make their homes energy-efficient by installing solar panel systems get tax breaks. Democrats believe that these savings add up.

Responding to a question from anchor David Muir about how this will help Democrats in the 2022 midterms, Scott announced “this is the legislative victory that many Democrats in these tight races had been waiting for. And tonight, the President is urging the House to pass this as quickly as possible.”

There are more CBS Evening News which was the tamer of the three, correspondent Scott MacFarlane took a break from his pathological obsession with the January 6, 2021 riots at the Capitol to report on more current news: “With $369 billion for clean energy programs, it’s also the largest climate change bill in U.S. history including tax credits for people who buy electric cars and for energy-efficient home upgrades.”

Verizon on ABC and Ensure on CBS made it possible for this media swooning about another huge Democrat Party spending monster that will only increase inflation. Progressive on NBC also enabled this. These links link to their information.

TOM LLAMAS – A landmark billion-dollar agreement has been reached in a country deeply divided with a deeply divided Congress. After years of inaction regarding the warming climate, and rising costs of prescription drugs that have impacted so many American families, the House is expected to approve the plan this week. It would provide hundreds of billions for greenhouse gas reductions and tax credit to Americans to purchase expensive electric vehicles.

Medicare is also able to bargain prices with pharmaceutical companies. Reduced costs for seniors 65 and older It also comes with substantial tax increases on corporations. Republicans have warned against spending more to correct the fragile economic reality in which we live. The midterms are less than 100 weeks away and Democrats still celebrate this win. We will be starting tonight with Ali Vitali, a leader from a divided Capitol Hill.

ALI VITALI: Democrats win tonight. After a long weekend of marathons, you might feel a bit tired.

SENATOR CHUCK SCUMER: It was an exhausting night. It was an extended month. It was a long and difficult year. We got there.

VITALI – A 22-hour Senate session which culminated with the passage of a massive health care climate bill and an economic bill. It also included $430 billion worth spending, including unprecedented energy and climate investments.

GINA McARTHY (NATIONAL CLIMATE AVISOR): This piece of legislation is the most significant I’ve ever seen.

VITALI: Clean energy job opportunities, incentives for electric vehicles, and methane reduction programmes. Also, seniors can now negotiate directly with drug companies to lower their drug prices.

What does it mean for you?

CATHERINE HORINE: This means so much. It will reduce my anxiety. This will hopefully keep me safe and provide food for my family. It is huge. It is huge. This is my whole life.

VITALI Schumer celebrated the feat of political balance.

SCHUMER: This is the secret of my success.

VITALI – Some Democrats are still furious about the things that were left out.

SENATOR BERNIE SANDERS: This legislation is only a small step in the right direction. It isn’t as ambitious as it ought to be.

VITALI: President Biden calls it a victory.

JOE BIDDEN, PRESIDENT: What do you expect? Yes.

VITALI – The massive-watt deal is now the centerpiece of both sides’ midterm message.

[…]

LLAMAS: It’s all right. Ali Vitali joins us now. Ali is likely to be passed in the House. Experts have their opinions on the impact of this bill on the inflation crisis.

VITALI: Tom. Top economists claim that this bill will lower inflation. Former treasury secretary from both Republican and Democratic administrations urged Congress to approve it. Investments in energy and healthcare will help to reduce inflation and keep costs down, while also ensuring long-term economic prosperity. Tom?

RACHEL SOTT: President Obama is close to a victory. Inflation reduction act will lower prescription drug prices and reduce the deficit. It also includes the U.S.’s largest ever U.S. Climate change mitigation commitment.

SCOTT: Democrats are pushing tonight for the health care reforms. Medicare will for the first time be able negotiate with drug companies the cost of prescription drugs and set a $2,000 annual cap on out-of pocket expenses. Americans purchasing their own health insurance would see lower premiums. The bill would be funded by raising taxes on the top corporate executives. On climate change, roughly $740billion package will help Americans purchase an electric vehicle. This includes a $7500 credit to purchase certain electric cars and $4,000 to purchase used models. Americans that make their homes energy-efficient by installing solar panel systems get tax breaks. Democrats believe that these savings add up.

[…]

SCOTT: But Democrats didn’t get everything they wanted and they’re taking aim at Republicans for what they blocked. In a 15-hour marathon debate, Republicans blocked the $35 insulin cap for millions of Americans.

[…]

SCOTT: Tonight, as the midterms approach, there is a larger political issue. President Trump has historic low approval ratings, however, he is enjoying recent wins. The new legislation cuts prescription costs, and makes a significant investment in combating climate change. A bipartisan bill was passed recently to create high-tech semiconductor chips here in America. The killing last week of Al Qaeda leader Ayman Al Zawahiri. It’s not clear if this victory will increase his approval rating or boost the chances of Democrats winning this fall.

DAVID MOIR: Let’s answer that question live from the hill tonight. Rachel, it’s less than 100 days until November’s midterms. President Biden is obviously eager to sign the bill and get into the country to record these achievements. But, as you ask, how will the bill land with the voters?

SCOTT: It’s the question hanging over these midterm election. The President is reportedly keen to travel to America and to directly sell this bill to American citizens. Many Democrats from these close races had waited for this legislative win. The President urges the House tonight to quickly pass it. David expects them to vote on it before the end of this week.

JERICKA DUNCAN: Back here in Washington, Senate Democrats are celebrating the weekend passage of a multi-billion-dollar spending bill that’s focused on healthcare, climate change and taxes.

[…]

SCOTT MACFARLANE – The Senate voted by the narrowest margin. Republicans are ripping apart plans that might increase taxes.

[…]

MACFARLANE. With $369B for clean energy programs and tax credits to people who purchase electric cars or for home energy efficiency upgrades, this is the most significant climate change legislation in U.S. History. The bill expands subsidies in order to make it easier for more people to get insurance through the Affordable Care Act. It also includes a 15% tax rate increase on corporate income. A plan to limit insulin costs for millions of private customers was left out of the bill.
