Nets Hide Liberal Justice Sotomayor Spreading COVID Misinformation

On Friday, the liberal broadcast networks weren’t interested in showing just how ignorant a liberal Supreme Court justice was when discussing COVID-19. During the Supreme Court’s oral arguments about the vaccine mandates, liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor made multiple hyperbolic and false statements suggesting Omicron was as deadly as Delta and how there were supposedly 100,000 children hospitalized. Intriguingly, she also compared humans to machines.

While ABC’s World News TonightIgnorance of oral arguments is a complete failure. CBS Evening NewsJustice Neil Gorsuch was the focus of my criticism. “With the exception of Justice Neil Gorsuch who wore masks, the majority of the justices donned them for the very first time.,” noted legal correspondent Jan Crawford.

Continue reading NBC Nightly NewsPete Williams, the justice correspondent, was more wise to avoid criticism of conservative justices. However, he included a soundbite on Sotomayor that did not contain any false statements. “We are now having deaths at an unprecedented amount. Catching COVID keeps people out of the workplace for extraordinary periods of time,” she said.

Today, however, Supreme Court liberals affirmed that the urgent need exists,” Williams declared. Williams exclaimed “immersive!”Tonight, the court appears ready to block what Biden calls an effective tool to fight COVID.”

In contrast, CNN’s Jake Tapper called out the liberal Justice for her lies on that evening’s edition of The lead. “I heard assertions made by the Supreme Court justices today that were simply false,” he said to SCOTUS analyst Joan Biskupic.

Adding: “One example, Justice Sotomayor said, quote, ‘we have over 100,000 children which we’ve never had before in serious condition and many on ventilators.’ That’s just not true.” He said this while a graph appeared proving her wrong.

Biskupic tried and failed to defend Sotomayor

Justice Sotomayor does not speak to her fellow colleagues, but I must say. They are not being persuaded by her. She speaks beyond the confines of the court. Justices Breyer or Kagan are usually the ones who attempt to persuade their coworkers with the arguments they present and the questions that they ask.

“Yeah, facts are important, though. Especially in the U.S. Supreme Court,” Tapper retorted.

Over on Fox News Channel’s Special ReportShannon Bream (Supreme Court correspondent) spoke with Dr. Marty Makary, John Hopkins University professor, to discuss Sotomayor’s false claims.

SOTOMAYOR

MAKARY: This is not the truth. Omicron has a milder effect. This is supported by laboratory data. This is supported by epidemiological evidence.

SOTOMAYOR, We are home to over 100,000 children. Many of them are in serious conditions and on ventilators.

MAKARY : This is not correct. In the U.S., we haven’t had 100,000 children with serious conditions. The CDC.

Instead of covering Sotomayor’s lies, CBS and NBC chose to stoke fear of the court striking down the Biden administration’s abusive overreach.

Because of the lucrative sponsorships by Progressive on ABC, Fisher Investments (CBS) and Liberty Mutual (NBC), this omission was possible. You can find their contact information here.

JAKE TAPPER – Joan, I was shocked to hear assertions by Supreme Court justices that they were making today. One example, Justice Sotomayor said, quote, “we have over 100,000 children which we’ve never had before in serious condition and many on ventilators.” That’s just not true.

At the moment, there are less than 5,000 COVID-infected minors. They are to the right. We’re showing the figures. It’s not 100,000. This includes minors admitted for COVID, as well as those who have tested positive and were hospitalized because of other medical reasons. How do you interpret this situation?

JOAN BISKUPIC: (CNN Supreme Court Analyst): The facts and figures presented by justices on all sides of the spectrum were so numerous that they raised many questions among those with a good understanding of this topic.

Justice Sotomayor does not speak to her fellow colleagues, but I must say. They are not being persuaded by her. She speaks beyond the confines of the court. Justices Breyer, Kagan and others try to convince their colleagues by using the arguments and questions that they make and to ask.

However, neither one of them were actually able to gain much momentum in the case that involved the 84million workers. The osha-case. Justice Kagan said that everyone knows vaccinations work. It’s something that saves lives. But, her coworkers on the right-wing thought otherwise.

As you may know Justice Sotomayor was not present in the room. Because she is diabetic, she was there. She was attentive to all the debates and asked questions in her chambers.

TAPPER – Facts matter, but they are essential. Particularly in the U.S. Supreme Court.

SHANNON Bream: SHANNONBREAM: SHANNON BREAM was used to mask seven justices present in the courtroom for the arguments today. Justice Gorsuch is the longest-standing defender. Justice Sotomayor chose to dial in from her desk.

Today’s first on the docket is a request for a stay of the emergency rule by the Labor Department requiring 100 or more workers to require employers to provide vaccines.

Justices Breyer and Sotomayor supported the mandate. Kagan also supported it. Some of Justice Sotomayor’s defense of the measure was controversial.

JUSTICE SONIA SOMAYOR – These figures show Omicron’s deadly effects and serious consequences in people who are not vaccinated like Delta.

Dr. Mary MAKARY, a John Hopkins University Professor: This is not correct. Omicron has a milder effect. This is supported by laboratory data. This is supported by epidemiological evidence.

SOTOMAYOR – We now have more than 100,000 children in severe condition, many of whom are on ventilators.

MAKARY : This is not correct. In the U.S., we haven’t had 100,000 children with serious conditions. According to the CDC.
