What is the extent of Michael Steele’s transition from RNC Chairman to Democrat sycophant status? This is today’s Morning Joe, Steele, an MSNBC analyst and member of the disgraced Lincoln Project, slurred Republican judicial appointees while expressing his preference for Democrat nominees.
Steele made comments about Republican Senator John Kennedy, Louisiana, telling Biden’s nominee for judicial office Dale Ho that, because of his attacks on conservatives on social media, he considered him to be “angry”.
Steele said:
“Did Senator Kennedy have a look at some?” What were the nominees Donald Trump made? He voted for people who did not appear in courtrooms. Any day, I’ll take some anger over stupid.”
Steele must know that just because a nominee has never been to courtrooms does not mean that they are “stupid or ineligible” for the bench. It is possible to be extremely intelligent and have important legal or academic experience without ever having served as trial lawyers or judges. Many Justices have had no prior judicial experience, including many a liberal like Steele would like, including Earl Warren, Arthur Goldberg, and William Brandeis.
Steele’s comment was a simple reflection of his partisan preferences for Republican judges over Democrat ones.
Steele made a mocking comment about the anguish that Brett Kavanaugh showed during his Senate confirmation hearings. Steele then asked whether Kavanaugh had been “angry enough for Senator Kennedy?”
Kavanaugh, however, was not expressing any righteous outrage over the denigration of his reputation and character through unfounded allegations of sexual misconduct.
Ho has, however, made a series of anti-Republican comments that have been inflamatory and threatening. He even suggested hatred towards them. This puts into doubt his impartiality.
Brzezinski, when asked by Steele to comment, said that She was setting up the table, knowing that he would be able to “handle it.”
Steele laughed in return and ran eagerly with the ball. Steele was able to chuckle, knowing that Mika had not intended to insult him. He assumed that the liberal line would win. What can you do to add to this discussion if you have become such a predictable and knee-jerk partisan? Now you’re just another indistinguishable voice among the liberal choir.
Sam Stein was more open-minded in accepting that Kavanaugh’s anger might be legitimate and acknowledging Kavanaugh had stated that other people in similar situations would also be mad.
Please note that Brzezinski appeared to call Brett Kavanaugh “angry and Stupid.” Would you really like to match wits with Kavanaugh, Mika? You, who have said that “SATs weren’t my strongest suit”. My SAT scores alone would have prevented me from being allowed into college.
This is a sample of the exchange.
MICHAEL STELE: Kennedy, did you look over some of Donald Trump’s nominations to the Judiciary Committee.
MIKA: Oh, my God!
STEELE People he voted in but had not appeared before a judge! So, Any day, I will take some anger over being stupid. [Mika laughs]
KATIY KAY: This is the whole political discussion during [inaudible, but seems to be referring to the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings.]Are you aware of how tense and angry the entire country was?
MIKA: He was angry, and he was stupid.
STEELE: Just a very quick question. Senator, was Kavanaugh mad enough to make you angry? I don’t understand.

Morning Joe

6:28 am ETMIKA BRZEZINSKI: Republican Senator John Kennedy is not supporting President Biden’s nomination of Dale Ho for a federal District Court seat in New York, calling him too angry to be a judge.
At a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing this week, Kennedy questioned Ho on past tweets aimed at Republican lawmakers. Ho, who is a voting rights lawyer, admitted that he had sometimes crossed the line.
In closing, Kennedy said, “I think you’re an angry man and I really have great concerns about voting for you. We don’t need federal judges who are angry, we need federal judges who are fair and can see both points of view.”
Michael Steele [heard chuckling off-camera]I am just going. Let me know if you need anything else. You set the tables. Get it? It is possible to handle it.
MICHAEL STEELE: I’ve just got to say, it’s so cute. Just look at the way some of them turn around. Joe Biden now wants to have judges and ambassadors across the globe. We don’t even have ambassadors. That they’re so high and mighty.
Kennedy, did you look over some of Donald Trump’s nominations to the Judiciary Committee.
MIKA: Oh, my God!
STEELE People he voted in but had not appeared before a judge! So, Any day, I will take some anger over being stupid. [Mika laughs]
KATTY KAY – The entire political discussion during [inaudible, but seems to be referring to the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings.]Are you aware of how tense and angry the entire country was?
MIKA: He was both angry and dumb.
STEELE: Just a very quick question. Senator, was Kavanaugh mad enough to make you angry? I don’t understand.
SAM STEIN Brett Kavanaugh, who was absolutely rage-fit When he was being interrogated. That’s what I meant. You could also say that it was legal. However, he was really angry. That was seen as an indication of his determination for many senators. The shoe is now on the opposite foot.
MIKA: He had a major meltdown, was crying and started talking about it. [inaudible.]
STIN: and He did indeed say that you would.
