On Tuesday’s edition of Deadline for White House, host Nicole Wallace invited PBS Washington WeekYamiche Alcindor, anchor on the program to share her ongoing obsession with the January 6th Riots. During this segment, she made the ludicrous assertion that GOP state voting laws are causing a “January 6th that’s happening every single day.”
Wallace started by asking Alcindor about a document dump from former New York City police chief Bernie Kerik which had allegedly included a strategic communications plan as part of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s legal defense team. Wallace stated “what’s so remarkable about the plan to overthrow the election of 2020. It was all written down. The whole intimidation, defrauding, corruption strategy was all on paper in black and white.”
Following that conversation, Alcindor drifted into the MSNBC obsessive over former President Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 Election. Wallace allowed Alcindor to rant, and the more she continued her commentary the more absurd it became. Alcindor repeatedly repeated her debunked assertion that Republicans pass laws across the country in order to manipulate elections.
In a laughable statement, she said that Republicans were laughing at her “are going to try to find a way to change the voting laws in this country to make sure that Republicans win rather than earning the vote, they’re essentially trying to make sure that they can just ensure, they can install people.” She ended her deranged rant by declaring “This is how democracies go down. When I talk to experts, when I talk to immigrants who came to America, I’m hoping for a more stable democracy.”
Wallace reacted by jumping down the conspiracy rabbit hole in order to prove that there were:
Experts agree that 400 laws were passed in 48 states, with the intention of reducing access to the ballots. But the most alarming part is the one that gives Donald Trump’s cronies power to nullify votes. It is a move that will allow us to see that democracy dies to this, or is that just how we’re dying now?
The crazy didn’t end there, not to be outdone, Alcindor had one last chance to out crazy Wallace and she did not disappoint:
This is what experts who have been studying democracy for many decades will tell you. This paradigm needs to change, they would tell you. And that American needs to understand that this is a January 6th that’s happening every single day on the local level that is slowly tearing apart our democracy.

NICOLE WALKACE: Yamiche. This sound appeared in the same media cycle as Bernie Kerik’s document dump. The Bernie Kerik document dumped contained a strategic communication plan. That included protests at local officials’ homes and offices. Protests at Governor’s Mansions, protests at Lieutenant Governor’s homes, protests at Secretary of State’s homes, protests at weak member’s homes. Protests in D.C. and rally for Senate and House key members. The document was signed. This is what makes the plan to overthrow 2020’s election so extraordinary. It was all written down. They wrote everything in black and white, including the intimidation, fraud, and corruption strategies.
YAMICHE ALCIINDOR: Everything was on paper. Everything was done on Twitter. As everyone else, I was also interested in this AP group. It had a proposal that the President declare an emergency in order to seize voting machines and force him to stay at power. It was something I needed to see. This lies continues to spread, and it is eating away at schools boards. And it is continuing to consume Congress. When you take a look at the GOP primary candidates from many different states, I find it remarkable that no one can say Joe Biden was President right now because they don’t want to offend Trump fans by declaring an actual fact.
So I think it is always, it’s always been very interesting how brazen the attempt to steal the election in 2020 was. The thing that will be most interesting to the committee, and to any legislators is how do you hold people responsible? Are there any ways to try to at least attempt at one point to actually stave off the fact that the Republican Party is more interested in getting Republicans elected using every means possible and less on how we, as a society, can work together to create fair voting laws? That is what I believe is the core of it all. When I talk to Republicans, Republican voters, they’re very interested in just trying to find people who are loyal to Trump brand who are going to try to find a way to change the voting laws in this country to make sure that Republicans win rather than earning the vote, they’re essentially trying to make sure that they can just ensure, they can install people and that is the way that democracies die. Talking to Americans who have come to America from abroad, experts and others, I hope for more stability in democracy.
WALLACE: Yeah and let’s not skim over that. I mean, Yamiche that’s how democracies die and tragically that’s the part of all of this. Even the Republicans we choose to exclude and consider productive, if it’s all we have to say about them, don’t object. No floor speeches, no rousing objections by Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger, Mitt Romney or anyone else in that group, about the 400 laws in 48 states that are intended to reduce access to the polls. Experts agree that the most alarming parts of the bills give Donald Trump’s cronies power to nullify voting. Is it a sign that we are moving to that democracies will die and that ours is on the verge of dying?
ALCINDOR: This is what experts who have been studying democracy for decades would tell you. This is an outdated paradigm and it needs to change. And that American needs to understand that this is a January 6th that’s happening every single day on the local level that is slowly tearing apart our democracy. I will say that I think it is interesting when you look at sort of who is speaking out and who the “profiles of courage” are. You can find someone who will push back against Donald Trump by looking at Liz Cheney. This is how you see your future in the GOP. It’s also interesting that Katie raised the question of why Sean Hannity wouldn’t want to talk to them. This is because the same people who had been texting Mark Meadows and saying that President Trump should stop doing this have now shifted their worldview to say that there wasn’t anything funny that took place in 2020. It must have involved some kind of fraud. It is, of course, a lie. It’s a lie. However, Sean Hannity is a person along with many people from Fox News as well as a few establishment Republicans we thought were elected officials. They have decided to accept this fact because the voters of President Trump and their supporters are requiring them to believe this lie, and to continue to perpetuate it in their lives in order to keep the party in good standings.
