After it became clear that Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla/SpaceX, had purchased Twitter, my only request was to be fulfilled.
Oh, @libsoftiktokHere’s a list of all your best meltdowns. @elonmuskIf you wish, purchase Twitter

It appears that Libs of TikTok had heard my request and probably many other requests and began to search for the best possible solutions. Conveniently, they delivered a supercut of leftists declaring that with Musk at the helm they won’t be on the platform.
MASHUP! Libs aren’t coping well with Elon Musk buying Twitter. DOZEN users have deactivated accounts already. This is how Elon will ever come back from it. pic.twitter.com/EElD8MkteB

You knew for a fact that the moment it was announced that someone who values freedom of speech owned the “de facto town square” that leftist would rush to TikTok in order to signal their virtue (throw temper tantrum) and declare they’re departing.
But the question remains: How many will they go?
Probably…at least for a little bit. Despite the left’s overdramatics, Twitter is still the most popular place to interact with people which means they’ll eventually be drawn back in. Although some people will not be seen again on Twitter, there will always be others who will.
It is my hope that they will stay. It wouldn’t really be a town square if the only people who stuck around are the people who agree with you. That’s not to mention the fact that if the radical left suddenly did vacate the platform it would rob Twitter of quite a bit of entertainment value.
Taylor Lorenz recommended that leftists like herself return to Tumblr. I was initially compelled to support them. Tumblr is a legend in its day. Strangely enough, the majority of Tumblr’s fringe activity ended up becoming mainstream opinion. This is why I urge as many leftists to remain on this platform.
We don’t want to create ideological bubbles that only reinforce our opinions and lead us into lunacy territory. Tumblr is a similar phenomenon. It was a group of people who believed in fantasies and then pushed them into lunacy territory. With their inclusion on Twitter, their absurd opinions can be brought out in the open to be examined, measured, or destroyed if needed.
So while it will be nice to have more voices on the platform those sitting to the right of Marx, I do hope we don’t see too many voices depart from the left. If they’re as stunning and brave as they claim they are, then they shouldn’t have too much of a hard time stunning those who disagree with them with their bravery.
