This morning, RedState reported on Joe Biden’s plan to escape blame for the nation’s inflation crisis, with the core of that plan being to blame the supposed greed of “meat conglomerates” for the rising prices at the grocery store. Today, Biden produced an incredible series of clips that were full of gaslighting as well as bouts de senility.
These Big Meat members were not greedy under Trump’s administration. Prices for beef and chicken remained stable and affordable. Rather, in what I’m assured is a complete coincidence, prices only began to rise after Joe Biden spent trillions of dollars the country didn’t have on various boondoggles, from COVID “relief” to infrastructure.
Anyway, let’s get the senility out of the way first. The president attempted to speak. It is possible to try and figure out what that something might be.
BIDEN: “[My wife’s friend] was sayin’ ‘do you realize it’s over 5 dollars for a pound of hamburger meat?!’ 5 dollars. Well this is partly, you know, the pound of beef today costs 5 bucks compared to less than 4 bucks before the pandemic.” pic.twitter.com/lsni8p98Uk

The price for a pound (I take it he is referring to hamburger meat) of beef has risen from $4 to $5 before the pandemic, apparently due the genius of the current head of the US government. And the reason for that is…that a pound of meat now costs $5 when it previously cost less than $4? That’s it. I’m glad we got that figured out.
Of course, even though he’s incapable of articulating it, what Biden is trying to say is that meat companies have created a monopoly that is artificially driving up prices, unconnected to any other economic factors. It’s also worth noting that Biden loves monopolies when it comes to them harming children in the form of teachers’ unions.

It is absurd to suggest that the greed of meat producers has caused an increase in prices. There’s no evidence whatsoever to back up that charge, and it requires you to pretend that the rest of the nation’s industries aren’t mired in an inflationary boom. Yes, meat is on the rise. Prices for gas and hotels are also on the rise.
What makes sense now? After years of being a good company, Big Meat suddenly decides to bill the American people when Biden takes office. It makes more sense for them to be subject to the exact same market forces as every other industry. To get meat to market you need diesel fuel. Guess how much it is now! Packaging meat products requires plastic and Styrofoam. What has increased in cost? Both administrative and processing workers are seeing their labor costs rise.
These are the true reasons that ribeyes cost more. It’s not greed, as much as I’m not a fan of many major corporations. Rather, it’s the reality of operating within the horrific economic environment created by Joe Biden. The president is refusing to take responsibility and wants to be like Elizabeth Warren by blaming the shadowy CEOs who caused the problems.
You can see what happens when you have a demented, clueless person living in the White House.
