Jimmy, He’s No Longer President: As Biden Crashes, Kimmel Rants at Trump

Jimmy Kimmel’s presidency is in ruins and Stephen Colbert has to deal with it. As Joe Biden’s presidency hits year one, crumbling and unpopular, the two late night Democratic hacks are in a quandary. They could be truthful and mock Biden. However, that would be a feat of comedy. Jimmy Kimmel devoted the first five minutes to Donald Trump’s monologue Wednesday. But, it must be said, he is not still President. 

Reminiscing about the good old days, Kimmel attacked, “One year ago today, Donald Trump was still in the White House. Throwing chicken nuggets towards the television. One year from today, he could be in jail.” He added, “We have COVID. Flu. The only virus we haven’t caught yet is Donald Trump.” 

Jay Leno would not have accepted the late-night comedians’ idea of Biden comedy. Talking about the Democrat’s rare press conference, Kimmel lamely attempted, “Biden took question after question about Russia, COVID voter rights. He was really interested in why Denny’s breakfast menu has so many sticky ingredients. “ 

Kimmel spent total five minutes and fourteen seconds discussing Trump jokes. He then offered just one minute and 25 seconds on Biden jokes. More on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, CBS’s activist comedian offered another version of the Denny’s joke: 

It doesn’t feel like so long but it is. Tomorrow is Joe Biden’s first year as president. And to mark the occasion —  [Applause.]Yes, you should give up. You’re going to have a horrible year. It was hell for everyone. Today, he hosted a press conference to mark the occasion. He’s also 79. It seems he will always choose the best early bird deal. 

Colbert was done with Biden-related jokes. As if the writers were one, NBC’sTonight Show host Jimmy Fallon came out with the same gentle Biden humor: “The press conference kicked off at 4:00 p.m.. You can tell it was really important for Biden, because that’s right in the middle of dinner. Four o’clock is when I put my jammies on.” 

However, he at least zinged: “But here’s some good news. Madame Tussauds has just revealed their President Biden figure. This is what you will see. Weirdly enough, that wax statue has a 60 percent approval rating.”

KIMMEL, We have COVID. We are suffering from flu. The only virus we haven’t caught yet is Donald Trump. 

KIMMEL – President Biden held his first press conference for a while today. The conference went on for many hours. You might still see it. For almost two hours, Biden took question after question about Russia, COVID voter rights. Biden really understood why Denny’s pancakes are so sticky. He stated in his opening remarks that “There is no cause to panic.” When I hear that there is no reason to panic, it makes me panic. I didn’t think about panicking until my doctor told me that there wasn’t cause. However, he seemed optimistic in general. In the next 10 years, he said that we will see more changes than ever before. He’s kept that money in a mason container in his Model T. This president asked a lot of question, and too many. You may have noticed that reporters yell “Mr. President!” Then they said, “Okay. Bye. We’re good.

KIMMEL: Madame Tussauds revealed their wax figures of President and Vice President. They did a great job. It was probably the first time that a wax figure looks more like the person it is based on.
