Jaden Smith continues to fan the flames of rumors regarding whether he is in a same-sex relationship with rapper Tyler the Creator.
Not long after Tyler the Creator was honored with a “Best Rap Album” award at the 62nd Grammy Awards on Sunday, Smith sent out a congratulatory tweet.
My Boyfriend Just Won A Grammy

“My Boyfriend Just Won A Grammy,” the son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith tweeted, in an apparent reference to Tyler the Creator.
Smith’s tweet instantly went viral, racking up nearly 25,000 likes in less than 15 minutes.

Twitter users were split on whether Smith was joking or not.
That’s probably because he is?

Smith has been lauded in the past by advocates of LGBT rights for flouting conventional notions of gender by wearing dresses.
TeenVogue writer Avery Matera wrote in March 2018 that Smith had proven “there is no reason to dress according to socially constructed gender lines.”
Matera was responding to a tweet Smith had sent out earlier in the month, in which he declared: “If I Wanna Wear A Dress, Then I Will, And That Will Set The New Wave…#ICON.”
In a 2017 interview with Nylon, Smith addressed criticism he’d received for his androgynous fashion choices.
“The world is going to keep bashing me for whatever I do and I’m going to keep not caring,” he told Nylon.
“I’m going to take most of the blows… so you know, in five years when a kid goes to school wearing a skirt, he won’t get beat up and kids won’t get mad at him. It just doesn’t matter.”

“I’m taking the brunt of it so that later on, my kids and the next generations of kids will all think that certain things are normal that weren’t expected before my time,” Smith added.
The origins of the Jaden Smith boyfriend rumors
It’s not the first time Smith has set tongues wagging about a potential relationship with Tyler the Creator.
“I just wanna say Tyler, the Creator is the best friend in the world and I love him so f***ing much, and I wanna tell you guys something,” Smith told a crowd of music festival attendees at the Camp Flog Naw Carnival in 2018.

“Tyler doesn’t wanna say, but Tyler is my motherf***ing boyfriend, and he’s been my motherf***ing boyfriend my whole motherf***ing life. It’s true! Tyler is my boyfriend,” he added.
Tyler the Creator could be seen laughing on stage in the background as Smith made the remarks.
Later in the year, Smith tweeted: “Yup @tylerthecreator I told everyone you can’t deny it now.”
“Hahaha you a crazy n***a man,” Tyler the Creator said in a reply.
Smith has since deleted the tweet.
