Democrats haven’t gotten what they wanted with their effort to whip up Americans with the Jan. 6 hearings.
So, now it looks like they’re going to Plan B — pro-abortion hearings in the wake of the SCOTUS decision in Dobbs, sending the decision on abortion back to the states.
Senator Dick Durbin, D-IL, Chairman of Senate Judiciary Committee announced that he will call for a hearing on the matter.
NEW: Senate Judiciary will hold a hearing in March on the post-Roe reality.

“Today’s decision eliminates a federally protected constitutional right that has been the law for nearly half a century. Millions of Americans will soon find that they are less protected than their grandparents and parents.
“The bottom line: on critical, personal choices involving a woman’s right to make reproductive decisions about her own body, do you trust her or the government? The Supreme Court now says a woman’s right to privacy does not extend to the most personal, private choice she will ever face.
“The Senate Judiciary Committee will explore the grim reality of a post-Roe America in a hearing next month. The Court’s decision to erase the right to access an abortion will not only lead to the denial of critical healthcare services, but also criminal consequences for women and health care providers in states eager to embrace draconian restrictions. I will keep fighting to enshrine into law a woman’s right to make her own reproductive choices. Our children cannot inherit a country that is more free-wheeling and dangerous than their parents.
We’ll have to see how it shakes out over the next week or so, but when the draft opinion leaked, it didn’t show that it raised the enthusiasm to get out and vote. So, it’s not clear that it will do much more, now that it’s become a reality. But they don’t have much left to pull out of the hat for the midterms, so they won’t get swept away by the GOP wave.
There’s also a more disturbing undercurrent that we’ve spoken about before, that some lawmakers are positing and may come up in the hearings — Democrats falsely accusing the conservative justices of not telling the truth to them during their confirmation hearings.
Here’s the powerful House Budget Committee chair, Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY) spreading lies and ‘insurrection’ against the justices.
It is now known that three Justices, who were lying under oath in order to reach the Supreme Court. But that’s only the beginning. To make matters worse, they have used their corrupted power to take away the constitutional rights of women to bodily autonomy as well as to rob them from personal freedom.

The justices stated that precedent would be respected. Of course, they’re going to do that; that’s what you do as a justice. Except that you might find something wrongly resolved based upon your analysis of the case, the law and its application. If that weren’t true, we never would have had other “precedents” overturned in the past. You wouldn’t have things like Brown vs. Board of Education finding racial segregation unconstitutional. It doesn’t happen very often, but it does happen.
Jonathan Turley from George Washington University is a professor of law. He dynamited this leftist lie.
Senator Collins and Speaker Pelosi suggested Kavanaugh may have lied to Roe about his confirmation. This is false. This is false. https://t.co/h8ccGTjD0r

But count on that being brought up in such a ‘hearing’ as well.
