Previously unseen photos show former President Bill Clinton posing on Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane, according to The Sun, which published them Tuesday.
In two of the photos, Clinton appears to be standing in the doorway of Epstein’s jet alongside the deceased financier’s longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. His hand is on her shoulder.
Reuters reported last month that the FBI is investigating Maxwell and other people the bureau suspects “facilitated” Epstein’s alleged sex ring involving underage girls. Maxwell has not been accused of criminal wrongdoing.

Another photo seems to capture Clinton standing with his arm around Chauntae Davies, then 22, who has alleged that Maxwell recruited her to serve as Epstein’s masseuse when she was 21-years-old. She has accused Epstein of repeatedly raping her over the years she served him.
Epstein died in his Manhattan jail cell of an apparent suicide while awaiting trial on charges of sex-trafficking women and girls as young as 12. He had pleaded not guilty.
Why Bill Clinton is in photos with an Epstein accuser
According to The Sun, the Clinton photos were taken on a 2002 humanitarian trip to Africa onboard Epstein’s infamous Boeing 727, nicknamed the “Lolita Express.” Clinton is also pictured smoking and joking around with the star-studded travel group, which included actors Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker.
None of the famous men have been accused of knowing about or participating in Epstein’s alleged crimes, and Davies told The Sun that Clinton was a “complete gentleman” during the trip.
However, she said the photos highlight how Epstein used his wealth to make influential friends.
“It’s clear that Epstein was using this private jet and his wealth to get close to rich and powerful people,” she said. “Looking back at these images now it raises a lot of questions about why Bill Clinton was using the plane and what perhaps Jeffrey may have been trying to accomplish by having him around.”
The Africa trip was already known to be one of at least four international flights Clinton took on Epstein’s plane in the early years of his post-presidency. The two men were reportedly friendly, and Clinton has admitted to meeting with Epstein in New York twice in 2002.
During the Clinton presidency, Epstein reportedly visited the White House several times.
Virginia Giuffre, who has accused Epstein of forcing her to serve as his underage “sex slave,” said in an affidavit that Clinton was also present on Little St. James Island, Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. So far her claim has not been corroborated, and Clinton has denied ever visiting the island.
In an August statement, Clinton’s spokeswoman said the former president had no knowledge of Epstein’s “terrible crimes” and had not spoken to him in “well over a decade.”

“President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein plead guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has previously been charged in New York,” she said. “Staff, supporters of the Foundation, and his Secret Service detail traveled on every leg of every trip [on Epstein’s plane].”
Epstein originally escaped federal prosecution by pleading guilty in 2008 in a Florida state prostitution case. That plea is now widely considered too lenient.
