Adam Schiff Claims ‘A Great Deal’ of New Evidence Exists in Capitol Probe – Opinion

California Representative Adam “Shifty” Schiff appeared on CBS News’ Face the Nation Sunday morning and promised, that “a great deal” of new information will be coming out about the events on January 6, 2021, when a group of protesters entered the US Capitol while the presidential electoral count was in progress.

Schiff was a member the investigative Select Committee that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced in June 2021. Now almost a full year later, Schiff finally thinks he’s got some true gold.

The violent conclusion of a long-running effort to reverse a presidential election was January 6.

Although the American people are familiar with many of these events, they will soon be able to learn more about them and discover how close we were to losing democracy.

Host Margaret Brennan asked him:

MARGARET BRENNAN: But if you don’t deliver a bombshell on Thursday, don’t you run the risk of losing the public’s attention here?

ADAM SCHIFFWe want to tell the story of the events in the country. How close were we to losing democracy and what caused the attack on 6th. American people know so much already. They’ve seen a number of bombshells already. There is a great deal they haven’t seen. But perhaps most important is the public hasn’t seen it woven together. One thing lead to another. The result of a series of attempts to overturn the election. This was the first peaceful transfer of power in human history.

Schiff is famously a windbag prone to using over-inflated, hyperbolic language, but it still stuns when you hear him say things like, “how close we came to losing our democracy.” Not close at all, Adam, not close at all. Are you sure that a group of violent protesters would overthrow Congress, march on to the White House, take control of the executive branch and then grab the top spot in the most powerful military force on Earth?

Where Schiff really loses his credibility though—if he has any left—is the line, “There is a great deal they haven’t seen.” Really? There’s some bombshell info you have in your back pocket that you’re going to drop on the American people shortly? Schiff is an infamous leaker. You can bet that if he had anything juicy, it would have been published in the Washington Post and the New York Times years ago. We’ve seen this movie before.

Shifty was asked a straightforward question about witnesses that might present in front the committee.

Margaret, we’re not commenting on specific witnesses, so I can’t confirm or deny who will appear before us.

Schiff’s real problem is that he has repeatedly claimed he had evidence of the Trump Russia collusion hoax. But he has never provided it. He is now completely untrustworthy.

Americans assume politicians will lie. However, some instances are shocking enough to warrant special attention. Newly released Congressional testimony shows that Adam Schiff spread falsehoods shamelessly about Russia and Donald Trump for three years even as his own committee gathered contrary evidence…

In December 2017 he told CNN that collusion was a fact: “The Russians offered help, the campaign accepted help. The Russians gave help and the President made full use of that help.” In April 2018, Mr. Schiff released his response to Mr. Nunes’s report, stating that its finding of no collusion “was unsupported by the facts and the investigative record.”

This was all false and it was obvious to Mr. Schiff.

While Schiff could ride to the committee on Thursday in order to provide bombshell evidence to support his claims, it is hard to believe that his previous lies. He earned his nickname “Shifty” with his endless dishonesty, distortion of the facts, and outright lies.

As the old saying goes, “You can’t trust him any further than you can throw him.”
