A Drunken CNN Rant Against Bill de Blasio Sets the Internet on Fire – Opinion

It’s 2021, and it is here fast. But while most people were probably snoozing by the time the clock struck midnight, there were New Year’s festivities going on in parts of the country. New York City was home to one of New York’s most famous celebrations, but it was cancelled due to limited attendance and the use vaccine passports.

These measures are working. It seems that the Big Apple has achieved its COVID-19 caseload rise1,324 per cent since the introduction of these important vaccine passports. Perhaps this is why CNN’s drunken speech on CNN this morning set fire to the internet.

Andy Cohen, a Bravo TV host, seems happy for former Mayor Bill de Blasio to step down.

This has received almost universally positive responses. Bill de Blasio is an awful mayor. His woke socialist policies have made the city a crime-ridden metropolis.

But let me dare to take a different path in commenting on this: I just don’t find it all that persuasive.

You see, I’m pretty sure Cohen is a Democrat, and I’m absolutely certain Anderson Cooper is. Is it possible to doubt their votes for de Blasio two times? And that’s hardly a limited result. With 73 percent, 66 percent, and respectively, 66% of the votes in 2013, 2017 and 2017, de Blasio were elected to office. Democrat Eric Adams was elected with 67 per cent of the vote in an election just months before. What did Adams promise to maintain once all votes had been counted? That would be de Blasio’s completely ineffective, business-crushing vaccine mandate.

There were no lessons learned. New York City’s residents, by and large at least, continue to make the same mistakes they’ve been making since Rudy Giuliani left office. Even if de Blasio were so awful (and he was), it is hard to believe that anyone would vote for someone else who will agree with him on 90 per cent of issues. The only possible exception could be policing. And given the penchant for Democrats to run further left once they gain office, I wouldn’t count on Adams keeping his word on that issue either.

Someday you will get what you vote. CNN complaining about the results is just plain stupid. Bill de Blasio stinks as mayor. Eric Adams will likely stink as mayor. You might actually be able to learn some lessons the next time. Or just get loaded and rant on New Year’s again. I’m sure that’ll accomplish something.
