If I said I wouldn’t have BelovedTo see the histrionic responses of Santa Rosa County gun grabers, Florida to hearing their sheriff openly welcome residents to shoot intruders, and also saying he prefers that they do so, I’d be lying to my Second Amendment-loving heart. Yo, David Hogg — got a minute for comment?
As reported by Just the News, Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson made his strong as hell “stand your ground” comments last week after serial-criminal Brandon J. Harris, 32, allegedly broke into several homes in Pace, Florida. Harris was shot by one homeowner, who missed. Johnson stated that Johnson later caught him.
Probably 20 deputies get there, the dogs are out, and he’s jumping fences and breaking into houses as he goes. The homeowner saw him breaking into his house and fired on him. As he ran, we eventually caught him inside a home he had broken into with Tom Sawyer (Road), and took him to our bedroom.
JTN noted Harris as a regular criminal. At just thirteen years of age, Harris had his first encounter with the law. He has been arrested at most 17 times. “He just can’t seem to get the picture that crime does not pay,” said Sheriff Johnson.
Johnson said during a press conference that while law enforcement officials don’t know which homeowner shot at Harris, the shooter did nothing wrong and would not face charges, while also not only inviting county residents to go full-metal on intruders — but to also learn to “shoot better.”
I want to say, as to the person — we don’t know which homeowner shot him — I guess they think that they did something wrong, which they did not; if somebody’s breaking into your house, you’re more than welcome to shoot them in Santa Rosa County; we prefer that you do, actually.
So whoever that was, you’re not in trouble; come see us. We have a gun safety class that we put on every other Saturday — and if you take that you’ll shoot a lot better and hopefully you’ll save the taxpayers money.
BOOM. Literally. And, hell yeah — the old “taxpayer relief shot.”
BASED Florida Sheriff Bob Johnson 🙌🤣

Sheriff Johnson wasn’t the first Florida law enforcement to encourage homeowners to shoot looters breaking into their homes. The New York Post reported that Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd encouraged homeowners to fire at intruders.
You would be proud to tell [looters], if you value your life, they probably shouldn’t do that in Polk County. Because the people of Polk County like guns, they have guns, I encourage them to own guns, and they’re going to be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded.
“And if you try to break into their homes to steal, to set fires, Sheriff Judd added, “I’m highly recommending they blow you back out of the house with their guns. So, leave the community alone.”
Bottom line:
How encouraging is it to see respected law enforcement officers (and I loathe this trite, over-used saying) “say the quiet part out loud”? With convictions, advise homeowners to stand firm during burglaries and to also use their Second Amendment rights for protection of their home and their family. And even better, to “shoot better” and save taxpayers the expense of career criminals like Brandon Harris.
Perhaps it would be inappropriate for me to say I hope the next time Harris breaks into a home — after he is no doubt released from prison for the umpteenth time — an armed homeowner does exactly what Sheriff Bob Johnson suggested, so I won’t.
