29-Year-Old Biological Male Bests 13-Year-Old Girl in Women’s Skateboarding Tournament – Opinion

Skateboarding is experiencing some hot topics like transgenderism.

As relayed by Fox News, this weekend saw the women’s division finals of The Boardr Open in New York. A 10-year old, a 12-yearold and a 29 year-old biological man were among the six top finishers.

Ricci Tres was the leader of the group.

Ricci spoke of transformation in a November interview

Here’s the skater qualifying for the Red Bull SOLUS, a men’s and women’s competition in California:

Ricci won the SOLUS. And on Saturday, the skater took The Boardr Open — pocketing the women’s division’s $500 prize.
Two-thirds of the top ten were aged 16 or less.

Second place — and $250 — went to 13-year-old Shiloh Catori, who currently resides at 133rd in the Boardr Global Ranks.

Ricci — who, according to the Daily Mail, is a “divorced, ex-Navy father-of-three” — ranks 838th.

Fox points out that not everybody was pleased with the results.

Many social media users condemned the tournament due to the differences in biological and age between participants. Taylor Silverman (female skateboarder) spoke out after being repeatedly second in the skateboarding competitions against biological males.

“I have been in three different contests with trans women, two of which I placed second,” Silverman wrote in an Instagram post on May 17, which met with a barrage of negative comments. The transgender opponent she had to face in Redbull Cornerstone skating events took home $1,000, $3,000 finals and $1,000 best trick.

The world of athletics is still in unknown territory. A few years ago, sport venues have allowed males to identify as women to compete against each other. There have been many variations in the methods of testing for testosterone. However, some areas are starting to enforce stricter rules that could ban competitors previously allowed:

Additionally, states such as Alabama, Louisiana, and South Dakota have banned biological males from girls’ athletics.

But, that doesn’t mean all sports will follow this line.

Report: Transgender athletes could be freed of all testosterone requirements through soccer

Back to New York’s Boardr Open, many would argue that a 29-year-old — no matter their sex — would have an advantage, at least in experience, over kids. Christina Pushaw — spokeswoman for Gov. Ron DeSantis — would be one of those. On social media, she asked why someone Ricci’s age was “competing against children.”

Podcaster Tim Pool pointed out that males have “higher centers of gravity, granting advantages that cannot be removed with [hormone replacement therapy].”

The Post Millennial reported recently that Ricci did not qualify for a tournament.

Tres attempted a virtual skate for the USA National Skateboarding Championships but could not meet the deadline to submit hormone level testing. Later, Tres’ testosterone levels were deemed to be “much higher” than the levels required two compete in the women’s division.

Tres, an athlete from USA Skateboarding at the time of the interview revealed that Tres had 190 units more testosterone than the International Olympic Committee Standards.

The world of sports is in flux, in a way it’s never been before. What’s around the corner? It’s impossible to tell. But even though we’re dealing with all-new phenomena, it reinforces an old idea: The battle of the sexes is far from over. This is evidently true for the war of the ages.
