On Thursday, all three evening newscasts ignored a brand new CNN poll showing President Biden’s approval ratings are continuing to collapse, with nearly six in ten Americans saying they disapprove of how Biden is handling his job as President.
While ABC’s World News TonightCBS Evening NewsNBC and NBC Nightly NewsWhile they all ignored the polls, some did find the time to write about the aftermath of a California brushfire and the damage caused by a tornado that struck Kentucky.
While CNN did find time to report on their own poll, anchor John King did everything he could to downplay the numbers and blame Americans for not giving Biden credit for the good things he’s done, whining “It is not sinking in out in America”. But King managed to break down these devastating numbers.
Let’s start with the threshold number. You always place emphasis on the midterm elections year. How do you rate President Biden? These are the worst numbers for President Biden. 41% of Americans approve at this time, or just four percent. Nearly six in 10 — 58 percent — disapprove. This is a difficult number to find in the midst of a presidential midterm year.
King went on to examine the results of the poll, which proved even more devastating for Biden’s party and the Democrats. “we asked people: what has President Biden done for you that you approve of?”King explained “56 percent of Americans — nearly six in 10 Americans, that means, a decent amount of Democrats — said nothing, they disapprove of everything that has happened.”
Over at Fox News during Special Report’s All-Star Panel, guest and former Reagan Secretary of Education Bill Bennett said the first year of Biden’s presidency was “the worst first year of a President in American history.”
Fellow panelist and radio host Hugh Hewitt agreed and mentioned Biden’s polling numbers. “Yeah. It’s getting to the point where even 538 the Democratic-leaning analyst says the lowest approval rating is now tied down to where President Trump was after one year.”Hewitt added “the new poll out today shows that 56% of Americans, 56% cannot name one thing they approve of Joe Biden doing in the first year.” He even argued that Biden did at least one thing right that Biden still won’t get credit for: “My gosh, he got a puppy, he at least got a puppy. That’s a credit to him. It was a terrible year for Biden.”
Anchor Bret Baier chimed in that while we’ve “got a long way to November.” These polling numbers “got to have Democrats shaking.”

6:54PMBILL Bennett: It’s amazing, whether we are talking inflation or crime, Afghanistan or the border. This is–I believe this is the worst first year of a President in American history.
BRET BAIER – The worst President’s first year in American History. Bill?
BENNETT, I think so.
BAIER: Hugh! Do you believe that?
HUGH HEWITT (Yes). The point is reaching where 538, a Democratic-leaning analysis says that President Trump’s approval rating has dropped to where it was one year ago. But President Trump had strong supporters. At least for the first year. Today’s poll shows 56%, or 56%, cannot identify one thing Joe Biden has done in their first year. Oh my gosh! He had a puppy. That’s a credit to him. Biden had a horrible year.
BAIER: CNN said it was about a small percentage who disapproved or disliked CNN. If you take a look at RCP polls, President Biden’s approval of his job is 40.6. Harold. 5.8. Approval of the economic system. Even worse. 38.1 to 57% These figures are the average from recent polls. This is the direction the country will go, at 27.6%. Wrong direction 65.1 percent. Those are numbers that we’re, in February, got a long way to November. The Democrats had to get up.

12:04 PMJOHNKING: Now let’s move on to the new CNN poll numbers. These are brand-new figures. And you’re going to see how inflation and broader doubts about the COVID recovery are dragging down the President’s standing. Let’s focus first on the threshold figure. How do you rate President Biden? These are the worst numbers for President Biden. 41% of Americans approve at this time, or just four percent. Nearly six in 10 — 58 percent — disapprove. This is a difficult number to find in the midst of a presidential midterm year. This is why? This is quite amazing. It is amazing. 56 percent of Americans — nearly six in 10 Americans, that means, a decent amount of Democrats — said nothing, they disapprove of everything that has happened. The President will confirm that the Rescue Plan was passed. We have passed bipartisan infrastructure plans. America isn’t sinking. 56% of Americans don’t say anything. All of the events have been disapproved by them. Only 15% believe the President helped the economy. Six percent claim the coronavirus can be taught. You can see his personality traits and foreign policy here. However, this is still a shocking number due to the lack of communication about the successes of Biden’s administration. The COVID pandemic, without doubt, is making the President feel worse. His COVID standing is in disarray. Why? This is the answer. 75% of Americans feel burned-out. 60 percent are upset. Only 58 percent are concerned. Half — 49 percent — say they’re confused, 47 percent do say they’re optimistic, so as the numbers come down, maybe the President can turn this dynamic. The President can’t break the ice with a frustrated country right now. Look at this graph to see the relationship between inflation and economy. Although the President’s approval rating for the economy was at 49 percent in March, this is now down to just 37 percent. In March, disapproval about the economy was at 44%, and it is now at 62 percent. This is how inflation has affected the economy. There is a drop in the unemployment rate. A record number of job creations was achieved by President Obama. 62% of Americans are dissatisfied with the President’s economic management. They pay more to shop at grocery stores and pump their gas every day.

KING: It’s quite striking that, Seung Min. 56 percent of them say nothing. They disapprove. Regardless of whether you’re a Democrat (Republican), or independent, they passed American Rescue Plan. This plan provided a great deal of assistance for American families. Although the bipartisan infrastructure program is only beginning to kick in, it was huge and significant. But Americans are still not feeling it.

KING: This will take several months. This will be a lengthy process, even if everything is correct at the Fed. It is unclear when the voters’ psychology will kick in and say, “Okay, president was dealt a difficult hand.” This is changing. Let me — let me turn, change my mind and give him some credit because the numbers right now and where the intensity is in the electorate. This is how the President handles his job. 15% of Americans approve strongly and 27% approve moderately. The remaining 41 percent disapprove, however, is impressive. Again, a midterm election year, it’s all about energy, anx — and sometimes anger drives midterm politics. The President’s critics feel strongly right now and his supporters don’t seem to care.
