Woman in Drive-Thru Perfectly Exposes Mask Hysteria – RedState

Of all the arguments surrounding the nation’s response to COVID-19, perhaps none crosses the line into continual absurdity as much as those over masks. Nearly every country city has had mask mandates in effect for the past two year. And as restrictions have been relaxed, that’s led to even more friction between citizens who just want to live their lives and busy-bodies who want to force their hypochondria onto others.

But what stands out most in the coronavirus masquerade wars are the ridiculousness of so many of the provisions. We’ve all been asked to put on a mask to walk to a restaurant table, at which point we can take our masks off. Because the virus seems to care about whether or not you eat. In New Mexico, for example, there was still a mask-mandate. While I stood at the podium as hostess, I was required to use a mask because it was six feet away from the bar. The end of that bar had unmasked patrons. It’s all just so stupid.

That’s the theme of the video I’m about to share with you, which is of a woman at the window of a drive-thru being harassed to put on a mask before they can hand her the drink she ordered. This woman does a great job of showing the hypocrisy that underlies mask hoopla.

The woman continually asks the drive-thru worker why it’s safe for him to hand her a mask but not to just hand her the drink she paid for…and she’s 100% right. What’s being asked of her makes no sense whatsoever. If it’s safe to reach over and give her a piece of cheap, ineffective cloth to put on her face, then it’s obviously safe to hand her a beverage.

This isn’t about safety, though. Because the interactions in the drive thru are also happening outside where COVID spread can be very restricted, it is not about safety. This is all about conformity and control. They require you to wear a face mask. Common sense does not apply. The data doesn’t matter.

Some people are praising the woman who gave the driver-thru worker an unfair time. I don’t mind it. This worker was rude and people who are fed up have to stop complaining. If that means pushing back on hourly workers “just following orders,” then so be it. Normalcy won’t return unless people cease complying.
