We have been continually gaslighted by the White House regarding inflation.
They’ve been telling us that it’s “transitory.” They even told us last month that if you don’t count things like beef, pork, and poultry — you know, those things that Americans eat — then prices might be pretty much normal. Yes. Yes, if you just forget about eating, it wouldn’t be much of a problem. You will find that these deflections don’t work when you look at the hard numbers.
White House believes they are able to say any thing and people will believe it. The sad thing is that that’s probably true. Some people will believe anything the left says. But most sane people see that there’s a problem when they avoid questions, deflect, or just throw some spin out there that doesn’t answer the question.
Check out the remarks of Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary.
As we’ve reported, inflation is out of control, but Psaki claims that Americans aren’t comparing prices from now with one or two years ago (e.g. You can see how prices are rising now.
Psaki responds to a question regarding inflation. “We all know that the American people don’t look at cost-to–cost comparisons from one year ago to two years back.” pic.twitter.com/ZIxxKhRUg9

Is that really true? It seems like that’s exactly what everyone is doing. They know it’s costing them more under Joe Biden for a lot of items, across the board, from food to other essential items like gas. They’re comparing to two years, one year, two months, you name it — the American people see what’s happening.
And “it’s the economy, stupid,” as another Democratic White House used to say. It’s always ultimately about the economy and how it hits people in the pocketbook. It’s obvious to people when there is less money at the end. They notice when they’re at the grocery store, and it costs them $50 more for the same items than it did a few months ago.
That’s why Biden is in such trouble now. Jen, yes they do compare, but Biden does not seem to be faring well with that comparison. We can see from his declining polls on inflation, the economy and other issues, how he’s doing. The American people were already tagging Biden with the problem in August: 79% blamed Biden’s government policies for the spike in inflation, 86% of Americans were concerned with inflation, another huge number. Rising prices are already affecting people, according to the survey. 70% of those polled said they were facing financial difficulties due to rising grocery prices. 67% also stated the same about gasoline prices. The prices have only gotten more expensive since then.
But when the White House spins things with remarks like they did today, they’re officially signaling they don’t really care what you think, when they treat your concerns with such dismissive disdain.
Then, of course, more lying about what’s actually going on makes it worse.
Here’s Psaki lying about gas prices, denying that they are going up everywhere.
WATCH: Jen Psaki claims gas prices are rising “in some parts of the country, not all.”
This is completely false.

Even according to CNN, that’s a bunch of malarkey. AAA reports that the national average gasoline price reached a new seven-year high at $3.27 per gallon Monday. This is seven cents more than it was last week. The national average price of gasoline has more than doubled from its April 2020 bottom at $1.77.
National gas prices rise
Trump took us from energy independence and low gas prices to high prices. Biden begging #OPECWe need to refinish more oil. I wasn’t sure anyone could do worse than Obama. Not only is that hitting people at the pump, but with the surge in prices of natural gas, that’s going to hit Americans hard with the rise in energy prices. It could cost up to 54% more this winter than last year, as we have reported. Guess who shut down Keystone Pipeline and made us less independent of energy? While also removing the sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, allowing for its construction and supporting Russia. That’s on Joe Biden. He had to go crawling — hat in hand — begging OPEC to pump more oil. Pumping oil can be bad when done by the U.S. but not when other countries do it.
