Joe Biden’s and his staff have seen their stock rise because they propagated the fiction that gas prices were rising and inflation was Vladimir Putin attacking Ukraine. Even though the price of gas has been rising for many months before Putin’s invasion, this is still a huge profit. They even came up with a cute little talking points phrase to use that they pushed out to all their operatives: “Putin’s price hike.”
But that gambit didn’t work, so they tried to blame it on oil companies–just like tried to blame the rising food prices on the price of meat or inflation in general on rising car prices. Americans place the responsibility squarely upon Biden.
The Biden team was obviously lying about the gas price. But a new report shows that either they don’t understand the real cause of inflation or they simply don’t care about the cause, because they were considering doing something that would make everything worse.
A new report by Axios claims that the White House was considering giving gas cards to Americans in order to offset high gas prices and help pay for it. That way, they could say they were ‘doing something’ about the high prices.
They were planning to increase inflation and spend more money on gas prices. This was absurd even for House Democrats who rejected the plan. The White House denied that it was the truth after it was leaked.
According to Axios, this was only part of the package that they discussed to address prices.
After record-breaking gas prices last week, Democrats from both houses have begun to brainstorm ideas for legislation that would lower them.
Other ideas being discussed include stimulus checks, using more ethanol to lower the demand for oil, and canceling oil companies’ federal leases that aren’t actively being used, the senior Democratic aide told Axios.
Many Democrats already have bills in place that would allow the Federal Gas Tax to be suspended, increase taxes on oil companies and fund means-tested aid; or offer a federal rebate when gas prices exceed $4 per gallon.
The same ignorance of what causes inflation is evident, and the suggestion to add more stimulus checks seems to be a good idea. It is clear that they are trying to punish businesses who have already had to comply with regulations from government. But, what you don’t see is the Biden administration lifting restrictions on oil companies so they can drill. You don’t see them listening to what Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said about finishing the Mountain Valley pipeline. You don’t see long-term solutions to a problem that they created by attacking our energy production.
They’re even willing to reach out to our enemies and buy from countries like Iran, rather than increasing our supply domestically. If we have the ability to secure our energy independence, why would you give gas cards or reach out to our enemies?
