This topic was touched upon in an earlier post, but I decided to elaborate a bit more.
They struck back at an airfield where some of their attacks are thought to have originated, despite Ukraine being under Russian attack in their home country.
Ukraine struck an airbase in Millerovo (Russia), which is approximately ten miles away from the Ukrainian border.

A Ukrainian Tochka U missile reportedly hit the base.
Rostov Gazeta reports that Millerovo was also attacked by Ukrainian army armed formations. The Rostov Gazeta also stated that there was an unknown number of injured.
Millerovo, which is located in the Southern Military District, houses the 31st Guards Fighter Aviation Regit. It also has two Su-30SM squadrons.
If that’s true, then not only did they hit it with a missile, they also had boots on the ground to take out the base. I’m willing to bet that Vladimir Putin didn’t predict that response, when he thought he could just walk into the country and everyone would lay down their weapons.
According to reports, Russia might be stretched thin and not adequately equipped for their needs in terms of fuel and food, so if Ukraine can hold it off the Russians may have to retreat.
Ukraine has been thinking of everything that they can do for Russia.

While Ukraine remains under surveillance, they’re about to receive a lot more weapons from EU countries. This includes Germany, which is often the sticking point when it comes to providing lethal aid.

The German government plans to send 1000 anti-tank weapons from its stockpile and 500 Stinger antiaircraft defence systems to Ukraine. Netherlands was also given permission to ship 400 rocket-propelled bomber launchers to Ukraine.
“The Russian invasion of Ukraine marks a turning point,” German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in a statement. “It threatens our entire post-war order. In this situation, it is our duty to do our utmost to support Ukraine in defending itself against Vladimir Putin’s invading army. Germany stands closely by Ukraine’s side.”
A government spokesperson said the weapons will be delivered “as soon as possible.”
Russia took more from the world than they expected.
