In the aftermath of Ken Paxton’s comments about two transgender females, Twitter highlighted tweets by Ken Paxton.
The following is an extract from the Washington ExaminerPaxton shared a tweet about Rachel Levine (Assistant Health Secretary) and Lea Thompson (Swimmer). Both women are transgender.
“Congratulations to Emma Weyant for being the real champion of the Division 1 NCAA women’s 500-yard freestyle, because the person who came in “first” is actually a man,” Paxton tweeted. Thompson came second, Weyant was third
Paxton also tweeted that Levine was “a man” and included USA Today’s magazine cover that listed Levine as one of its “women of the year.”
Twitter flagged the tweets as “hateful conduct.” While users can choose to “view” the tweets, they cannot like or retweet them.
“This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about hateful conduct,” Twitter’s flag read. “However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.”
In another tweet that was flagged as “hateful conduct,” Paxton slammed Twitter’s labels.
“This whole insane episode represents a two-pronged attack from the left — both of which I’m vigorously fighting against,” Paxton wrote. “First is the left’s war against human biology, and especially against women. Second is their weaponization of Big Tech against conservative voices.”
“Big Tech is not only anti-conservative and anti-Republican,” he added. “It is now apparently anti-truth and anti-science. I will keep trying to make them pay. Even now, I’m exploring legal options to stop their one-sided censorship.”
