It is troubling to see so many things about the Clinton campaign’s attempt at smearing President Donald Trump. On top of that, it’s been concerning that people haven’t been held to account for what was done. Michael Sussmann, who was charged with lying to FBI on Monday, was the latest twist in this story.
Tucker Carlson made an extraordinary claim to Rep. Matt Gaetz (R.FL) Monday night. According to Gaetz, he and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) received information that the FBI had maintained a secure work environment inside Perkins Coie — the law firm where Michael Sussmann used to be a partner and with whom he used to represent the Clinton campaign.

Oh, that isn’t concerning at all.
According to the letter from Perkins Coie in response to Gaetz and Jordan’s letter, the law firm has maintained that space for more than a decade going back to 2012. Carlson stated that the workplace was still available today. Gaetz claimed it was Sussmann who was also “operating this secure work environment.” “What reason would there be for that?” Gaetz asked. “And what leverage would the Perkins law firm have over the FBI, given this work they’re doing together?”
Gaetz said he was “making demands” on Christopher Wray, the FBI Director, “immediately” to explain what was going on here, because Gaetz said it was not at all normal. Gaetz said that the Democratic Party, which has employed Perkins Coie for many years, shouldn’t have this special access to the FBI.
It’s not clear what is being referenced here and we’ll have to hear what the FBI and Perkins Coie have to say about this. If there’s such a place, it raises some questions due to the close relationship between the law company and the Democratic Party. Because the FBI is one of the most important law enforcement arms of this country, the FBI should be maintaining objectivity. We’ve had a lot of questions about that when it comes to the Russia probe. Does this explain the mysterious space? I’d like to hear it.
