Trump Says He Deserves ‘Reparations’ for Russia ‘Witch Hunt’ – Libs Horrified

“I now support reparations.”

President Donald Trump on Sunday came out in support of reparations, but not the kind woke liberals are calling for.

Trump suggested that he wants to be compensated for part of his presidency that was “stolen” by the Russia investigation, which ultimately found no collusion between his team and Russia. The president retweeted a post by Jerry Falwell Jr., the president of Liberty University, that advocated adding two years to Trump’s first term in the White House.

“The Witch Hunt is over but we will never forget,” Trump followed-up in a tweet of his own. “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

While some legal experts laughed off the comments, others condemened them as an assault on the rule of law, according to the Washington Post. The worriers pointed to Trump’s irreverent refusal ahead of the 2016 election to say he would accept the results, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s warning last week that Democrats had to win big in 2020 lest Trump refuse to leave office.

Meantime, on Twitter, liberals were horrified. In keeping with longtime hysteria about Trump’s supposed authoritarianism, some warned that the president was plotting a power grab.

Carline Orr, a feminist behavioral scientist at Virginia Commonwealth University, called Trump’s retweet of Falwell “alarming.”

Others were outraged that Trump and Falwell would make light of the movement to pay reparations to the descendants of African-American slaves.

Simon Balto, a black studies professor at the University of North Carolina and an alt-folk singer, called the two men white supremacists.

On the other hand, some Trump supporters thought Falwell’s idea was pretty good.
