The Most Tone-Deaf Response to the Inflation Crisis Imaginable Goes Forth – Opinion

Inflation news has been worsening over the last week. We first saw the record breaking producer price figure, at 8.6%. This is an increase of over 1% year-over-year. The consumer price numbers dropped a few days later to 6.2 percent year-over-year, registering a record high for the 31st consecutive year. Worse still, the inflation rate on commodities and products that Americans most use is much higher. Price hikes for items like grocery and energy cost are well in the double digits.

As far as his approval is concerned, Joe Biden has been feeling the pinch. We’ve seen the president hit fresh lows recently, while the generic ballot is showing Republicans up by ten points, enough to absolutely wipe out Democrats in the mid-terms.

All of this being said, left-leaning media outlets, which includes almost all mainstream media, continue to try and explain away American’s problems. Stephanie Ruhle’s tone-deaf comments on the inflation crisis are, to my mind, the most shocking.

This is truly an amazing display of elitism, disconnect and tyranny. Ruhle actually argues — without a hint of how tone-deaf she is — that Americans have the money to pay for the massive inflation we are seeing. Even includes a graphic from social security showing how payments have increased.

Now, on a factual level, Ruhle’s assertion is simply asinine. Wage growth has been outpaced by inflation, but even so, wage growth today is mainly driven by lower-wage jobs that pay more for filling positions than those in middle class. An average four-parent family, one of whom is in a job, has to bear the brunt of rising gas prices and skyrocketing home heating prices. They also have to deal with a higher grocery bill, which includes more expensive meat, eggs, cereal, and other staples.

Ruhle doesn’t care, though. This is all an abstract game to someone with her wealth, and it’s one she’s dedicated to winning simply for political reasons. It could have been a voice for those who are most vulnerable. Instead, she’s spitting on them to carry water for a nearly 80-year-old, senile president.

But it wasn’t just Ruhle making ridiculous comments, though I think her segment takes the top prize. Here’s Donna Brazile on ABC News this morning, telling people to just shop smarter and that inflation isn’t a new issue.

BRAZILE : Inflation is on the rise for the past three years. I go to — I go to Safeway —

CHRISTIE: Come on, Donna.

BRAZILE: I go — look, look, you’ve got to be —

CHRISTIE – Not 6 Percent (ph).

BRAZILE: Look, you — you’ve got to be smart when you go out and shop today, OK, whether you’re looking for Jiffy cornbread, which used to be three for $1 and it went up to 87 cents, or if you’re buying gas. And if you’re buying it in the inner city, it’s 10 cents more than if you go out just further out.

This is a truly illiterate statement. Here’s the thing. It is a constant process of inflation. The goal is typically 2 percent per year. Brazile claims that we are now seeing 3x the amount. She’s simply wrong, and once again we see a rich media member unable to even admit there’s an actual problem.

The solution here is not to “shop smarter.” It’s to have a government that stops kneecapping mainstream America so that a bunch of far-left progressives on the coasts can feel good about themselves. What Ruhle and Brazile are doing isn’t going to help their cause either. Rather, it’s going to turn more people off. It’s impossible to bully people into thinking otherwise, and Americans do not want lectures by privileged elites on shopping.
