Today, the Biden administration indicated that they will continue pushing the boundaries when it comes vaccine mandates. That came from US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, who spoke to CNN’s Martha Raddatz this morning.
Murthy says that there is no reason to rule out expanding the mandate on vaccines to small-businesses. Those with fewer than 100 employees.

RADDATZ
Martha, it is clear that nothing is off-limits at the moment. However, the main focus is now on the implementation of the OSHA rule.
There are a lot of problems with this, but the most important one has to be that the 5th Circuit has already put a stay on Biden’s first vaccine mandate for private businesses. The court cited “grave constitutional” questions in its decision and has given the administration a deadline to respond to its concerns. Given that, it’s especially disturbing that Murthy would go on national TV to suggest another mandate is coming, while knowing that the first one has already run into a legal brick wall. And if I could bet on it, I’d bet it ends up being struck down completely in the near future.
But, isn’t that really the point? The administration is totally lawless, and doesn’t care about the impact their decisions have on everyday Americans. OSHA would have to enforce a mandate that affects small business owners in order for them to be able and willing to do so. The answer is they can’t, and they likely do not have the legal authority to do so anyway.
The nation already feels the effects of the supply chain crisis, which is already causing strain. It needs every worker it can find. The job market is under more pressure than ever because of unwise and ineffective vaccine mandates. This also causes further shortages and damage to products and services. Yet, the Biden administration just doesn’t care. Their existence is surrounded by an inexorable bubble of incompetence, malice and ignorance.
Lastly, let’s note that the definition of being “vaccinated” is almost certain to change over the next several months. Already, studies show a decline in immunity. Do mandatory boosters seem to be in the future? All the while, the case for mandates simply doesn’t exist. Everybody spreads COVID. No amount of forced vaccines will stop this endemic disease. The federal government does not recognize natural immunity in the discussion.
Yet, I feel like I can say all that until we are blue in the face, and it just won’t matter to the Biden administration. They are not going to relinquish their unlimited power. In the end, it’s going to be up to voters to stop this and to send a message that this can never happen again.
