Telemundo Shoves Abortion Into Report on Virginia Election

Telemundo anchor Nacho Lozano found a way to divert attention from the inconvenient issues that have swung the Virginia election by making their report all about the Texas abortion law.

Just seconds into opening a 5-minute plus report with, “today is election day in various parts of the country,” and in Virginia “the elections are looking tight”, Lozano shifted to the real subject of the story: “how the Supreme Court will address appeals to Texas’ restrictive abortion law.”

Watch as Lozano pivots back to his abortion advocacy not once, but twice during the report- effectively pushing the network´s liberal agenda onto their audiences:

NACHO LOZANO : Election day is today in different parts of the nation. The eyes of the nation are on Virginia, where elections look tight. This could serve as a benchmark for the next midterm elections in 2014. The Supreme Court of Justice is expected to address the appeals against Texas’ restrictive abortion laws.

 …

Josef now, we will move onto other topics, uh. These are unfortunately political, when they shouldn’t be. This is about rights. And, especially, what happens at the Supreme Court. The Texas anti-abortion bill is currently being debated. How do you feel about the Supreme Court’s current situation?

Josef!

JOSEF MALOUF ESQ.JOSEF MALOUF, ESQ. After studying the Court-of-the-justices ideology, I am confident that Roe-vs. Wade (the right to abort) will be abolished by the Supreme Court. In previous years, they wanted to do this, but did not have the funds. This time they are able to.

NACHO HíjoleJoseph. Many thanks.

The irony of Lozano´s claim that the issues surrounding abortion “unfortunately are political when they shouldn’t be”, can´t be escaped in a politically tilted report featuring Telemundo´s expert on constitutional law – watch his exchange promo spot anytime! – somberly anticipating a change in Roe v. Wade.

Malouf told the Telemundo audience, “Yes, I believe so.” I’ve studied the ideologies of the Court-of-the-justices now and can assure you that Roe Vs. Wade will be overthrown by the Supreme Court. It is something they had wanted to do in past years, but did not have the funds. But now, they have the money to make it happen.

Lozano is the one who tacks on partisanship to his report when he replies to Malouf.  HíjoleJoseph, it is not very encouraging.
