SILENCE: CNN & MSNBC Primetime Ignore Bombshell Durham Report

Just like their broadcast network counterparts, the primetime hours of both CNN and MSNBC completely ignored the bombshell court filings from Special Counsel John Durham showing that Hillary Clinton’s campaign allegedly spied on then-President Donald Trump both at Trump Tower in New York and the White House. In fact, with the exception of a brief segment on Jake Tapper’s show in the 5 pm hour on CNN, the leftist media spent the entire day ignoring the revelations. 

CNN and MSNBC decided to spend their primetime cable news block, generally 8-11 p.m. EST on subjects like Trump’s finances, attacking Texas voter integrity legislation and the Democrat’s January 6 Committee. 

CNN deserves credit where credit is due The Lead host Jake Tapper did cover the Durham news but he only devoted a measly two minutes and forty-seven seconds to it over halfway through the second hour of his show.

Tapper declared, “In our politics leads now, new revelations regarding the 2016 presidential race made by the Special Counsel appointed former Trump administration Attorney General Bill Barr.” As you may recall, Barr initially assigned U.S. attorney John Durham in 2019 to examine the Russia origins. Then, before Barr left office in 2020 he appointed Durham as Special Counsel.

“Durham now indicts Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussman, as well as Russian analyst, for lying to FBI. Tapper informed viewers that they are both pleading not guilt and provided background information, before updating viewers on the latest developments. 

“Now, in a court filing late Friday night, Durham says that he found new information about researchers who supported Hillary Clinton” Tapper noted before bringing in senior justice correspondent Evan Perez.

Perez asked Perez, “What information do you have about the researchers who worked for Hillary Clinton?” Durham also wanted to know more about their activities. Perez explained that the researchers were “supporters of Hillary Clinton” and they believed that there were “suspicious connections between Russian-made phones and Trump Tower” and the Trump White House.  

On the other side of the coin, Durham said this “was being used as essentially to dirty up former (…) President Trump, trying to get the intelligence community essentially to believe that Trump was in cahoots with the Russians.”   

Turning his focus specifically to former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussman, Tapper asked Perez “what’s the back story on Sussman?” Perez needed to basically give a crash-course on Sussmann since this name is likely one that CNN viewers haven’t heard of, as the Durham probe was almost completely ignored under Jeff Zucker’s leadership.

Perez said that Sussman had not disclosed to whom he worked when he met the FBI. This is part of what this filing was for was part of Sussman’s case. Durham asserts that Sussman disclosed this information, to an agency called the CIA. It showed some data in an attempt to convince intelligence to believe that Donald Trump was conspiring with the Russians. 

Tapper and Perez only spent two minutes, forty-seven seconds on Durham. This is far better than completely ignoring the story like all the other leftist media.

JAKE TAPPER – In politics, new revelations have been made about 2016’s presidential race by Special Counsel Bill Barr appointed by ex Trump Administration Attorney General Bill Barr. You may remember that Barr assigned John Durham, the U.S. Attorney to look into the Russia probe’s origins in 2019. Then, before Barr left office in 2020 he appointed Durham as Special Counsel. Durham indicted Michael Sussman, a Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer and a Russian analyst for lying to the FBI. Both men pleaded guilty. Durham now claims that he has new information regarding researchers who support Hillary Clinton. CNN’s Evan Perez joins us now. Evan, what are we learning from Durham about the activities of these Hillary Clinton researchers?

EVAN PEREZ What they thought they observed was suspicious connections between Russian made phones and Donald Trump’s, you know, Trump Tower office. They also claimed that there was suspicious traffic with President Trump’s Executive Office. Durham claims that this allegation was used to essentially dirty up President Trump to convince the intelligence community that Trump is in secret deals with Russia. They essentially used all the data these researchers had. They did this primarily to identify it to Donald Trump and to display the types of internet traffic that occurred between the Russian-made smartphones and the Executive Office of the President. Durham claims that all of this is false. All of it is unfounded. All of this is data and was used before Donald Trump took office.

TAPPER: Okay. Durham revealed this in court documents late Friday night. They were related to Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussman. Who he has received–he has gotten an indictment against Susman. Sussman says he’s not guilty. What’s the back story on Sussman? 

PEREZ Durham says that Sussman never divulged to whom he was working when he met the FBI. This is part of what this filing was for was part of Sussman’s case. Durham claims that Sussman gave this information to the CIA. This data was used to try to convince the intelligence community that Donald Trump was working with the Russians.
