Joe Scarborough, a Biden-sycophant, will attempt to make even Ol’ Joe’s worst decisions positive.
Today’s Morning Joe, Scarborough accomplished that dubious feat with regard to what was the worst, most catastrophic, decision of Biden’s presidential tenure to date: the precipitous withdrawal he ordered of all US troops from Afghanistan. In addition to the deaths of 13 Marines, Biden’s decision led to the virtually immediate retaking of the country by the Taliban, the terrorist outfit that harbored al Qaeda in the period leading up to 9/11.
The day after Zawahiri was killed in a CIA drone attack, Scarborough was attempting to paint a positive picture of al Qaeda’s welcome in the Taliban’s welcoming arms, following the Biden order to withdraw. It’s like putting lipstick on the pig.
“Ironically, the United States left Afghanistan and the Al Qaeda head was content to stay in Afghanistan in an apartment where he could be found. We were able to take him out.
Scarborough admitted that Biden didn’t plan Zawahiri’s felicitous end when Scarborough ordered his withdrawal. Scarborough’s egotistical sexism has its limits even for toadies such as Scarborough.
After the Taliban took over the country almost immediately one year ago, something Biden said would take some time — “Taliban forces pledged not to allow Afghanistan to become a base for terrorists who could threaten the West.”
Joe, how’s that for a workaround?
Morning JoeThe show opened with an odd mix-up between Obama and Biden, where the two seemed to be completing each other’s sentences. Naturally, the show omitted the most famous, heartfelt, spontaneous, iconic, such pledge of all: the one President George W. Bush made, standing on the still-smoking ruins of the World Trade Center, just days after 9/11, his arm draped around a firefighter:
“I can hear you. You are heard by the rest of the planet. These people will be able to hear everyone soon, as well.
Compare and contrast the vibrant Bush, speaking spontaneously, with the enfeebled Biden slurring his way through a canned statement. Do you think either one sent out a message to friend or foe?
Joe Scarborough on Morning Joe saw the good side of Biden giving Afghanistan to the Taliban. It allowed Zawahiri to feel at home there, so it was possible for us all kill him. Sponsored in part by GlaxoSmithKline (maker of Nucala, Discover and Allstate).

Americans with President Biden declaring it a total success.. . .
JOE SCARBOROUGH [Zawahiri]Al Qaeda’s terror campaign against America was at its heart. Finally, last night. It was something I had never expected to occur. After all, it appeared that every leader of al Qaeda throughout the years had been killed. He was finally brought to justice last night. The location in which he was taken to trial is very troubling. In, in Afghanistan’s capital, there is a Taliban leader who was once again being sheltered by the Taliban.
WILLIE GEIST – Yes, in Kabul, Afghanistan’s wealthy neighbourhood. He would have been sitting outside on Fifth Avenue on the Upper East Side, when a drone struck and took him out.
. . .
SCARBOROUGH : Willie! It is amazing what we were able, and how the CIA was able, over so many years, to bring these terrorists before our eyes. But it is amazing that you find the exact same person who withdrew troops Afghanistan. This was something I opposed. Bagram Airforce Base is something that I was opposed to. We should peacefully return it. But that’s a topic for another time.
We heard the following: Now the terrorists will be free to roam Afghanistan as we have left Afghanistan. Al Qaeda will now be able reform and form in Afghanistan.Ironically, Joe Biden may have seen this before it was time. Ironically, al Qaeda’s head felt at ease in Afghanistan after the United States left Afghanistan.
