The FDA revoked the Emergency Use Authorization on Monday for two monoclonal antibody therapeutics used by patients suffering from COVID. Florida is a leading advocate for the use these drugs, and it has set up a network of clinics to provide care. The ostensible reason is that the Omicron variant of the Wuhan virus is now more prevalent, and the drugs used under the FDA EUAs are “less effective” than against the Delta variant. It is all a nonsense. It is not supported by peer-reviewed clinical trial data. The drug is effective in a small percentage of Omicron cases. According to Florida Department of Health the substitute drug is as effective as a placebo.
Today, Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida held a press conference to discuss the matter.

The drugs are not ineffective, again. However, the drugs have been deemed ineffective without any clinical trials. Florida recognizes that Omicron is not as effective as the drugs, however they can be used in other cases. Just because they don’t work as well is not a reason to place them off-limits to physicians who wish to prescribe them.
Jen Psaki was obviously asked about the topic and did a good job.

The problem, of course, is that vaccines and boosters don’t necessarily work. In fact, most of the patients in Florida’s clinic system have been vaccinated and boosted. The FDA is pulling the wool over a program that has had success to spite the Republican governor, who has proven his ability to organize an effective COVID response. This is truly crazy. It is even more bizarre that a few FDA pencilnecks are taking actions to prevent Florida doctors treating patients in accordance with their best clinical experiences, while they bear no responsibility for their patients who have been denied care.
They must be brought to justice. These people are active evil. They will kill you to achieve their goals of power and imposing their will. We cannot afford people like this in our society.
