It’s not everyday that we see democrats who are against abortion.
On Tuesday, John Bel Edwards, the Democratic Louisiana Governor signed two bills regarding abortion into law. The bills effectively would ban abortions within the state and criminalize those who perform them.
Edwards’ decision comes at a monumental time in history where the U.S. Supreme Court is likely to overturn the 50 year Roe v. Wade ruling and push abortion rules and regulations back to the states. It is likely that this decision will come before the end.
“My position on abortion has been unwavering. Pro-life is something I stand for and have always been open about it. This does not belie my belief that there should be an exception to the prohibition on abortion for victims of rape and incest,” Edwards tweeted. Edwards is a member of the Democratic Party, but also asserts that he supports life. This rare combination makes Edwards an interesting choice.
Governor. Edwards live affirming stance. “SB 342 reaffirms current Louisiana law stating that unborn babies will be protected from abortion when Roe v. Wade is overturned. SB 388 creates the crime of the illegal sale of chemical abortions, especially when ordered online without medical oversight,” LifeNews reported.
Senate Bill 342, Reaffirmation of the Human Life Protection Act , refers to abortion in general.
The Legislature of Louisiana intends to ban and limit abortion, and so preserve each unborn baby’s life to the maximum extent allowed by law.
That bill also indicated that if providers are caught giving illegal abortions they will face prison terms of up to ten years and be fined up to $100,000 as ABC news pointed out.
Senate Bill 388, Mail-Order Abortion Prohibition Act, refers to the distribution of abortion-inducing drugs particularly through the mail.
A person who performs an unintentional abortion with an abortion-inducing drugs in violation this Section will be sentenced to hard labor and fined up to five thousand dollars.
It was also stated that the bill would allow for similar charges to be made if an abortion-inducing medication causes a woman’s death or harm.
Although these bills are important wins in fighting for life, there are many lefties who are unhappy.
Roe V. Wade is now in danger. Yet, my state still places restrictions on the rights of reproductive freedom and providers of health care.
It is a terrible development for Louisiana’s healthcare system and freedom of choice. https://t.co/gBUMXgI845

It’s a psycholeftie with demon eye. Let’s take a look at Katie Smith, a Planned Parenthood employee.
Notable is also the fact that Louisiana has the 2nd highest maternal death rate in America, while the U.S. already ranks among the most dangerous countries.
Instead of dealing with the problem, legislators want to use their time and resources to put doctors in prison.

It’s quite cray cray to see the disapproval of laws that aim to protect innocent babies. Kudos to Gov. Edwards broke with the demon trend of Democrats that advocate abortion.
