Omicron has now spread beyond California, I am sorry to say. It is a terrifying, loud, and reverberated voice that should always be used. This case confirms that the virus exists in at least three other states.
One Minnesotan man was found to be carrying the Omicron variant. The CDC has begun to investigate while the media is trumpeting it as huge news, in typically hysterical fashion.
NEW: The CDC is currently investigating another Omicron case from Minnesota.
Minnesota resident, the individual developed mild symptoms November 22. He has been well since. This individual was able to travel to New York City, where he attended the Anime NYC 2021 convention on November 19-21st 2021.

The virus was apparently transmitted to the man by a New York convention. This would support the assertion that Omicron is also spreading in Minnesota. After returning to New York, he tested positive in Minnesota. Now, he is fully healthy. This confirms the South African reports that Omicron infection is mild.
That’s not to say no one will ever die from it, as I’m sure some with certain pre-existing conditions will, but there is hope that as COVID-19 continues to mutate, that it will follow the path of prior viruses. This usually results in the virus becoming less fatal but more transmissible. It could be that Omicron becomes the dominant variant.
However, Dr. Anthony Fauci doesn’t agree because COVID-19 is becoming increasingly endemic and dissipates from being a major threat (i.e. like the flu), he goes back to being a nobody who doesn’t get put on TV every Sunday, and he can’t have that.
Reporter asks if Omicron could be more easily transferred but is less deadly than Delta. Should restrictions on Omicron be removed to allow Omicron to compete with Delta? Fauci responds, “You’re talking to something very dangerous.”

Regardless, put me in the camp of saying “who cares?” to this news of an Omicron infection in Minnesota. These variants are not going to stop. The inevitable will be delayed by no matter how many travel bans or lockdowns we put in place. Omicron is spreading rapidly, so why bother? Moreover, Omicron will undoubtedly spread to other variants in the near future.
There is no need for more hysteria or the CDC wasting its resources on Omicron cases. To truly combat a disease already infected with the virus, we need to be gung-ho to get therapeutics approved. Pfizer’s new COVID treatment pill is a very promising prospect, and it’s necessary because the coronavirus is not going away. You can’t just keep shooting people up with more and more vaccine boosters. We have to learn to live with this virus — because we don’t have a choice.
Yet, the federal government, including Joe Biden as its leader, continues to obsess over measures that simply don’t provide any real, practical benefit. I still contend they are doing so not because they genuinely think it will make a difference, but because they want the cover provided by being able to say they “did something.” When all your failures can be blamed on the pandemic, it’s paramount that you pretend to be fighting the pandemic. That’s a coward’s way to lead, though.
Leaders make difficult decisions. They don’t keep doing the same things over and over again that haven’t worked in the past. Joe Biden may not be a true leader.
