NFL Funding Groups Seeking To Kill ‘Malignant Tumor: White Supremacy’

The National Football League seeks to inspire change, but it’s repeatedly keeping bad company and pursuing the wrong kind of change. Its latest blunder is to fund numerous defund the police groups through its “Inspire Change” social justice program.

Fox News reported that the NFL’s social justice initiative awarded substantial funding to the Vera Institute of Justice, the Oregon Justice Resource Center and the Community Justice Exchange. Each of these organizations support defunding or abolishing police departments, Peter Hasson reported. 

Community Justice Exchange (CJE) wants to end policing, imprisonments, and enforcement of immigration laws. This is exactly what a radical book of essays (“Abolition: For the People”) published by Colin Kaepernick calls for. The exchange published a roadmap to “prison abolition,” and its website states: 

Community Justice Exchange strives to create a world free from prisons and policing.

The Oregon Justice Resource Center collected $300,000 from the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative, but it is unknown how much the other two groups received.

The Oregon group isn’t just advocating against public safety officers either. The Minnesota Freedom Fund is another extremist organization that it manages. It rescued rioters, as well as people accused of domestic abuse, during the violent summer 2020.

The Minnesota Freedom Fund isn’t just some band of kooks flying below the radar. Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden staffers promoted it last year. Fox News reported that “several Biden staffers donated to during the protests that followed George Floyd’s death, which since has posted bail for multiple alleged violent criminals, including an alleged murderer and a previously convicted rapist.” Harris mentioned the incident in a tweet.:

The Inspire Change website boasts of supporting more than 75 local community-based bail and bond funds, “working to end money bail and pre-trial detention at the local level and immigration detention at the national level.”

The Oregon group aims to dismantle and defund a “malignant tumor: white supremacy.” 

New York-based, the Vera Institute of Justice seeks out ways to reduce police funding. Fox reported:

‘Vera is committed to dismantling the current culture of policing and working toward solutions that defund police and shift power to communities,’ the group’s president, Nicholas Turner, wrote in June 2020. He also touted Minneapolis leaders’ pledge to ‘dismantle’ the city’s police department – a move ultimately rejected by voters in a ballot measure last month – as one of several ‘victories’ notched by activists.

In defense of its far Left extremist bedmates, the NFL issued a statement saying it aims to end so-called “systemic racism”:

Our 33 social justice grant partners have been selected based on the critical work that they have done surrounding Inspire Change’s four pillars – education, economic advancement, criminal justice reform, and police & community relations – to break down barriers to opportunity, end systemic racism, and bridge the gap between members of law enforcement and the communities they serve.

The NFL foolishly stands by these highly questionable groups and claims they are making “lasting positive impact made in communities across the country.” 
All of this is further proof that the National Football League’s radical social justice warriors keep adding logs to the dumpster fire the misguided league has become.
