After two mass shootings, the atmosphere is heated. We examine all calls to ban assault weapons and AR-15s. MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace said that Republicans are “swathed in frothy delusion” that somebody is coming to take their guns. Really? Liberals, from Whoopi Goldberg through Michael Moore were advocating banning guns and the repeal of the Second Amendment.
Our Nick Fondacaro joins the show to pick apart the “facts” the gun-grabber media gets wrong as they promoted President Biden’s “impassioned plea” on live TV to ban “assault weapons.” David Muir from ABC shared the typical claim that mass shootings had “tripled” after Clinton’s ban on assault weapons expired in 2004. Liberals define “mass shootings,” as any incident where at least four people are killed.
Many people associate mass shootings with many deaths. But sociologist James Alan Fox, who counts mass shootings for USA TodayThis higher estimate, according to the “Gun Violence Archive”, includes fewer lethal events. “On average, there’s one person killed per case. No one is killed in half the cases. And three-quarters, it’s either none or one.” It’s still scary, but it’s not as horrible.
