Nets Skip Docs Proving Biden Admin’s Afghanistan Withdraw Incompetence

A day after leaked notes from an August 14 meeting in the White House Situation Room the day before Kabul fell were published in full by Axios, the evening news broadcasts were radio silent on the topic. The documents further demonstrate how incompetent and inept the Biden administration handled the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Fox News Special ReportThis was the first evening newscast to cover the documents. John Roberts, fill-in host, introduced their coverage. Newly released documents reveal the chaos in the Biden administration just hours before Taliban took control of Afghanistan’s Capitol. The President’s Defense Chief and top diplomat were questioned about the U.S. exit by two Senate committees today.”

Roberts then turned to Fox’s national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin for more details on the Biden administration’s disastrous Afghanistan blunder, as well as the closed-door briefing on Capitol Hill by Biden Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken:

The Capitol Hill closed-door briefings regarding the Afghanistan withdrawal saw Lloyd Austin, Secretary of Defense, and Antony Blinken being grilled. The humanitarian disaster that’s followed, and a resurgent ISIS and Al-Qaeda. Notes from the August 14th meeting of national security officials show the Biden government had not decided on where to evacuate thousands more Americans and Afghans. The Pentagon complained for several months that this was delayed by State Department bureaucracy.

Not only has this harmed America’s national security, but it also caused the death of many Afghans trapped by Taliban rule in Afghanistan. Griffin reported immediately on the devastating conditions of that country following the United States withdrawal The following warning was issued by aid organizations:

Griffin was told by Shelley Thakral, World Food Program. “23 Million people don’t know the source of their next meal.” We’re calling this a race against time.”

Griffin informed viewers that Griffin was also available. “the World Food Program says aid can be channeled through humanitarian organizations to bypass the Taliban. This is the moral imperative to end mass starvation.

This is a pretty dire situation. This is a shame that none of the networks reported it. This story is so bad for their biden friends, we shouldn’t be surprised.

JOHN ROBERTS. New documents leaked by the Biden Administration show chaos during the last hours of Taliban control over Afghanistan’s Capitol. The President’s Defense Chief and top diplomat were questioned about the U.S. exit by two Senate committees today. Jennifer Griffin, national security correspondent, reports from the Pentagon tonight.

JENNIFER GRAFIN: During closed-door Capitol Hill briefings about the withdrawal from Afghanistan, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was grilled by Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The humanitarian disaster that’s followed, and a resurgent ISIS and Al-Qaeda. Notes from the August 14th meeting of national security officials show the Biden government had not decided on where to evacuate thousands more Americans and Afghans. The leaks come after months of complaints by the Pentagon that State Department bureaucracy was preventing them from doing so. The notes obtained by Axios read “State will to identify as many countries as possible to serve as transit points. U.S. Citizens and Afghan citizens are needed to have access to transit points.

Does that mean that in that stage, no preparations were made about where — or how to evacuate Americans?

JOHN KIRBY, PENTAGON PRESS SERETARY: The Defense Department had already begun to model what a non-combatant evacuation might look like in the spring. The secretary had already prepositioned troops for August. We were able get around 3,000 soldiers on the ground at Kabul’s airport in just 48 hours.

GRIFFIN – In Afghanistan, the recent scenes of nearly starvation and an economic collapse following withdrawal by the U.S. have prompted the following warnings from international aid groups.

SHELLEY THANKRAL (WORLD FOOD PROGRAM: 23,000,000 people don’t know the origin of their next meal. We’re calling this a race against time.

GRIFFIN: A message amplified in a recent Fox interview with the world food program’s director in Kabul.

MARY-ELLEN MCGROARTY (WORLD FOOD PROGRAM DIRECTOR): It’s at the peak of torment of hunger that they were living through today is worse than any of the war that they have lived through. It is important to separate the humanitarian imperative from political discussion.

GRIFFIN – The World Food Program states that aid can be routed to humanitarian organizations in an attempt to get around the Taliban. It is a moral imperative that this aid be channeled through humanitarian organizations to end mass starvation. John?

ROBERTS: It makes you wonder why, after so much planning, it turned out to be such a disaster. Jen Griffin at Pentagon. Thank you Jennifer.
