On Monday evening’s NBC Nightly NewsThey finally ran the segment about the rapidly changing situation at the US/Mexico border, which was allowed to continue open by the Biden administration. Lester Holt announced in stunning candor that border patrol officers had confirmed the news at the beginning of the segment. “more migrants crossed into the U.S. in March than any other month since records were kept.”Holt also reported that once Title 42 is lifted by the Biden Administration, then the situation at the southern border could only get worse.
Julia Ainsley, a correspondent from Texas reported on the ground in McAllen. She revealed that border patrol officers had informed her “a record 221,000 migrants crossed into the U.S. last month” These numbers are being warned by local authorities “could soon double”If Title 42 is removed.

Ainsley observed this with great accuracy “the Biden administration is facing bipartisan criticism of its immigration policy” which has seen “1.7 million illegal border crossings last year, an all-time record.”
Ainsley sought to present both sides to the story and interviewed a Honduran Family who supported lifting Title 42 after a woman she knew was raped while waiting for her visa to the United States.
Ainsley closed her report by saying that “a group of Texas sheriffs is urging Congress to intervene to keep”Title 42.

Eastern, 7:09:06LESTER HOLT – Officials have revealed at the southern border that in March, more migrants entered the U.S. than ever before. As authorities prepare for a huge surge following the lifting of Title 42 border restrictions by the Biden administration, Julia Ainsley has late details.
JULIA INSLEEY: This evening, border patrol issued urgent warnings. They released these images to warn of the danger. The new images show that a record 221 000 migrants entered the U.S. in the month last month. Officials in the area believe that this number could rise to twice.
JEFF JOHNSTON (MCALLEN TEXAS ADVISANT CITY MANAGER),: We would find it overwhelming to see numbers like this.
AINSLEY: This surge can be attributed to the Title 42 COVID border restriction that was lifted by the Biden administration. According to the Department of Homeland Security, more than 170,000 immigrants are currently in Mexico and will cross when Title 42 ends on May 23rd.

AINSLEY: The bus station is located in McAllen that houses migrants who are crossing the Rio Grande valley. Officials here fear that the traffic could overflow the shelters or bus station and leave people without somewhere to sleep and no place to turn.
