NASCAR driver Brandon Brown was the guy who Kelli Stavast, the NBC sports reporter, was interviewing when a chant broke out nearby in the stands of “F**k Joe Biden.” Despite the chant being quite clear, Stavast claimed that they were chanting, “Let’s go, Brandon” and a saying was born. This was not a comment on Biden but also on how the media covered up and smoothed things for Biden.
Brown stated that he was worried about sponsorships due to the political nature of the statement. However, he signed a contract with LGBCoin.io in order to sponsor the car’s Xfinity Series for the year.
I’m excited to welcome @LGBcoin_ioAs my No. 68 Chevrolet Camaro to be my 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series primary partner in full season.

LGB stands for “Let’s go, Brandon.” The LGB logo would be featured on the red, white, and blue car.
Brown’s publicist Max Marucci said the paint scheme on the car had been approved by NASCAR in writing prior to the announcement of the deal. But now, NASCAR is backpedaling, announcing that they are still “reviewing” the details. A NASCAR official told Motorsports that Brown “jumped the gun” when he made the announcement.
In other words: NASCAR has become irritated about a deal they announced after it had been approved. NASCAR is taking a bad look at this. If you already approved it, you should have the courage of your convictions, and if you didn’t want to approve it, you shouldn’t have done so begin with.
“I don’t know what happened, any internal conversations,” Marucci said. “But we’re just going to try to work through whatever happens next.”
NASCAR isn’t talking or explaining themselves. The president, Steve Phelps, had previously said he didn’t want the organization to be connected to politics of the left or the right.
That, of course, rings a bit hollow, given that NASCAR approved a Black Lives Matter logo on Bubba Wallace’s car for a race at Martinsville Speedway.
“I’m excited for this opportunity to run #BlackLivesMatter on the car for Martinsville,” Wallace said in a video posted on Richard Petty Motorsports’ Twitter handle.
“This statement that we have right here. … Running this race car. Representing the sport on television. I think it’s going to speak volumes for what I stand for, but also what the initiative that NASCAR, the whole sport, is trying to push.”
NASCAR has missed the fact that Black Lives Matter was connected to radical politics, hundreds of riots and other political activities. And they have an issue with just having “LGB” on a car? What was their thinking when they approved the Black Lives Matter paint scheme? How is this consistent? When you approve that, you can’t thereafter hide behind a claim that you don’t want to involve yourself in politics. And they shouldn’t be pulling out of a deal they already made in writing unless they want to invite legal action.
It’s quite controversial. After all, didn’t Joe Biden agree with “Let’s go, Brandon?” So obviously, the saying is bipartisan as well. Stand by the deal, NASCAR, and don’t be cowards.
