On Thursday’s installment of MSNBC’s Deadline: White House, PBS’s Washington Week moderator, and NBC Washington correspondent Yamiche Alcindor as well as fake Republican and editor-at-large of The Bulwark, Charlie Sykes continued their tradition of blaming everything they don’t like about our politics on the January 6 riots at the Capitol.
Anchor Nicole Wallace opened the segment with a whining about ex-President Donald Trump asking Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate to declare victory over him in the election that was too close to call.
Alcindor was inspired by this and went on to claim the title “the fault line on the right and Nicole, what this is it’s really the long, long shadow of January 6 casting over our nation and casting over all of the election systems that our democracy holds dear.”
Moments later, Sykes jumped in and doubled down on Alcindor’s delusions. Sykes started off by whining Republicans will continue to claim voter fraud “without breaking a sweat although David Purdue is now saying that his election was stolen, as well” and proceeded to agree with Alcindor that “it’s really January 6 forever and I think people need to understand that and Donald Trump has made this absolutely clear by telling Dr. Oz just declare that you are a victor.”
After baselessly claiming there’s a January 6 forever, Sykes shamelessly proclaimed a “seditious insurrection [is]In Republican primaries, it’s not seen as a disadvantage. In many cases, it’s seen as a plus”Even went so far as to say “many Republican voters apparently insist on that as a litmus test.”
While you may agree or disagree with former President Trump’s advice to Dr. Oz, what isn’t in dispute is whether there is a January 6 forever or that Republican voters support seditious insurrections. They don’t.

Eastern, 4:32:22YAMICHE ALCINDOR: It is exactly the fault right–the fault line on the right and Nicole, what this is it’s really the long, long shadow of January 6 casting over our nation and casting over all of the election systems that our democracy holds dear. Now, you have the ex-President Trump telling Dr. Oz that he should declare victory even though he wasn’t the winner in 2020. It might happen that Dr. Oz wins the race but it is not right now. You now have Trump, the former president, breaking all the precedents of language, which, along with his rhetoric and language, seriously question the credibility and legitimacy of our election. Also, you now have an official major party who is trying to repeat those lies, and that’s disturbing according to the experts I have spoken to.

CHARLIE SYKES : They will continue doing so with no sweat, even though David Purdue claims his election was stolen. Yamiche was able to summarize it all very clearly. The truth is that it’s January 6, forever, and people should understand this. Donald Trump stated that Dr. Oz can declare you a Victor. Participation in what we consider seditious rebellion is not considered a negative for Republican primaries. Many times, they are seen as positives and Donald Trump as well as many Republican voters seem to insist on this as a litmus-test.
